• Jvari Church - The first stop is Jvari Monastery, an ancient temple dating back to the 6th century AD, located near Georgia’s historic capital, Mtskheta. Perched atop a high mountain, it offers picturesque views of the surrounding landscape, including the meeting point of the turbulent Aragvi and Kura rivers.

The monastery draws thousands of visitors each year thanks to its remarkable architecture, stunning location, and rich historical significance. The name “Jvari” translates from Georgian as “The Cross.”

Since 1994, Jvari Monastery has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, underscoring its global cultural importance.

• Mtskheta - Next, the journey continues to the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mtskheta has been inhabited for more than 2,600 years and once served as the capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia until the 5th century.

From the parking area, the walk leads to the historical center of Mtskheta, passing through its charming narrow streets filled with souvenir shops, wine tastings, and traditional Georgian sweets. The highlight of the visit is the ancient fortification with Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the burial site of Christ’s Robe.
