The Katla Ice Cave is truly one-of-a-kind. It is situated in the Kötlujökull Glacier, an outlet glacier of the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier. Beneath the glacier lies the powerful Katla volcano, from which both the glacier and the ice cave derive their names.
The tour begins in the village of Vík, where participants board a Super Jeep that transports them to the ice cave. Upon arrival, they will don crampons and helmets to safely explore the natural ice cave. An expert guide will provide insights into the glacier and the natural processes that form the ice cave.
