The service was first class from start to finish. From signing up for the trip, the instructions of where to meet, what to where and what to bring with you. The guild was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the river and the eagles. Had some great stories to pass the time. Will certainly try one of your other trips in the future.
Beautiful sunny, no wind, perfect last Saturday in January. Guides were at pick-up location early. They were friendly and knowledgeable. Transportation was great! Boats were clean and comfortable. Very beautiful float. Had our 8 year old granddaughter with us. She had a wonderful time. We would recommend not taking children younger than eight. Online services and experience was wonderful. Guide was informative and fun. Definitely recommend to everyone! Will do again!
Enjoyed drifting down the river. Our guide, Aurora, was very friendly and knowledgeable about Eagles. She has a very fun and relaxing way about her. The trip was well organized. It was fantastic seeing the eagles in their natural habitat. I would take this tour again only I would do it in mid December when the eagle population is greatest on the river.
This trip was wonderful. Very relaxing. We saw 63 eagles. Our guide did a great job and was very knowledgeable of the birds and the area.
I chose this top rating because I could not find anything that interfered with my enjoyment of the trip. However, having said that, I really wish I could have heard more that our lovely guide was saying, since we were in the back of the boat, and she had her back to us. She had a lot of wonderful stuff to say, and I could not hear it all. Perhaps there is a piece of technology that she herself could purchase to enhance her presence. Also, I appreciated your recommendation for the motel. The motel was clean and comfortable, as well as reasonably priced. My only comment on that was the presence of the watch dogs, in the back yard who let us know when we walked past their fence. As a dog lover, knowing the dogs were there for 24 a day did not enhance my experience, and I am sure there are lots of dog people like me. I do understand they were there because of the remoteness of the location, and issues that you may have in the area. But I would not stay at the motel again for this reason, this was certainly contrary to the current trend of "pet friendly" motel. But as you say, it is clean and comfortable.
Another wonderful day on the Skagit River with Skagit River Guide Service. Aurora, our guide extraordinaire, was amazing. She’s an expert with the oars, extremely knowledgeable and absolutely delightful to be with. The time flew by and we are already looking forward to our trip down the river next year. You all run an outstanding business - thank you so much!
Enjoy the trip. The weather was great for Dec. (15th).
Everything was just perfect. The guide was excellent....informative and fun. And we saw over 150 eagles! What can I say? Wonderful experience all the way around.
Cole was great! Very knowledgeable and a great guide!!!
This was our first time out on the Skagit to view the eagles, and the website described what to bring/wear so we were well prepared, our guides were great, there was no motor noise or smells, we saw lots of eagles, and it was easy to book.
I guess I was hoping we would see more eagles, even though I know from the guide the salmon run is low this year, thus fewer eagles. It was still fun and our family has a memory to treasure. You see, going on this tour was a 'bucket list' item for our mom who has stage 4 lung cancer. No promises she'll be around next winter, so it was good we got to spend time together doing something she's always wanted to do :)
The entire group had a wonderful time! We enjoyed Cole's narrative (and humor)! We'll try to book another tour next year...maybe earlier in the season. We saw about 25 eagles but would love to see more! Also, the heaters and hot chocolate were wonderful! Thank you.
Great trip with a wonderful, knowledgeable, entertaining guide.
Quiet boat ride with heaters for warmth. Our guide, was excellent and knowledgeable. I think his name was Jake? Saw many eagles in the trees above the river..A beautiful, peaceful day with little rain.
Scott was an absolute fun person to have as the guide. He was very knowledgeable & easy to have conversation with. We had a better than average day weather wise & the heaters were a big hit with Marilyn. We would recommend this means of floating as opposed to rafts any day !
Wonderful experience! We had a professional, polite guide and saw lots of eagles, couldn't ask for more!
Well coordinated event. Scott was knowledgeable, informative and fun to be with.
My wife and I had a great day on the Skagit river with our guide Cole. The weather was beautiful and the eagles were out. Cole educated us on the area and made sure we were comfortable in our heated drift boat. What a terrific day.
This was a wonderful experience for my husband and I, and our 9 year-old grandson! Our guide, Jake, was waiting for us when we arrived, answered all of our questions, and loaded us into the boat safely and efficiently. He gave us terrific information about the eagles, other birdlife, and surrounding terrain and mountains. The boat had heaters (hurrah!), and hot chocolate was available. We had a stunning day to float the river and, best of all, we saw at least 50 eagles of all ages, some battling seagulls for fish. A truly amazing day. After this experience, I wouldn't use anyone other than Skagit River Guide Service.
Weather was perfect, cold but not raining. Loved the heaters at the seats. The river was awesome. Didn't see the hundreds of eagles that were promised (peak eagle time Dec 15 - 25) but we saw a lot. The best part was our guide, Scott. He was awesome too! He had a great understanding of the river, navigating us flawlessly between the snags and trees and other debris. He showed us back eddies, and had lots of information about eagles, their behaviors, their eye sight abilities. He was also able to use the river's currents and his rowing skills to twirl the boat to provide the best viewing and for the photographers. I felt totally safe and well taken care of. Thank you Scott and thank you Skagit River Guide Service!
Our first time doing this & now we plan on it every year. Excellent time even in the rain!! The heaters make it comfortable. Cole was absolutely wonderful. Enjoyed his knowledge of not just the eagles but the river & it’s history.
My seven-year-old son and I had a great experience with Skagit River Guide Service. It was early in the season and the river was running high, so the eagles weren't as numerous as they are at other times, but we still saw a lot -- 60+ Eagles, plus Common Mergansers, Ravens, American Dippers, Buffleheads, Chum Salmon, and a handsome, two-point buck walking along the shore. Wayne was an excellent guide, and the other folks on the trip were friendly and easy to chat with. All in all, a 3-hour float down the river in a heated boat with beautiful scenery, good company, impressive wildlife, hot cocoa, and someone else doing the rowing was a fantastic way to spend a morning!
