Loved our visit & hope to come again when it's warm! - We are so glad we decided to visit Boone Hall plantation on our way out of town! It was a beautiful property and a beautiful winter day. It felt like a great way to honor Martin Luther King Day… exploring some local history and listening to the songs and stories about slavery from one of the direct descendants of a family that worked on that plantation! She was magical, inspiring and humbling to listen to. The current owners have done a great job of restoring things, sharing the history and paying tribute to those who built and worked on the property. I learned a lot and really enjoyed our visit. Might have to come again when it’s warm. 😊🌸

Great experience! - My wife and I spent about 3 1/2 hours at Boone Hall and loved the experience. We started at the museum, toured the main house and gardens, took the tractor tour, did the self-guided tour of the salve quarters, and finished the day with the Gullah presentation. I wouldn't change a thing. The buildings are well-preserved. The history is well documented and interesting. And the tour guides are interesting and entertaining. It was a wonderful experience! We enjoyed learning more about the slave history, Gullah culture, and the history of Charleston.

It was a sensitive subject handled in a very respectful way. Loved Veronica’s presentation of the Gullugh culture! - It was very educational and all the guides were wonderful, professional and nice. The recorded messages in the slave quarters were very informative.

Christmas at Boone Hall Planation - We visited the Charleston area from Texas for our Christmas trip in 2025 and were blessed with beautiful weather and a visit to Boone Hall Planation. While the gardens were not in season, the grounds were still quite beautiful and the oak tree lined drive is breathtaking. Take the tour! The tour guides are excellent and the history is fascinating. The interior and exterior of the mansion is decorated for Christmas, but note that access to some rooms are off limits and photos inside are not allowed. However, you will still see plenty inside!! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. This property is a jewel!

Time well spent - Our group included 3 generations: 2 grandparents, a mom, and granddaughters ages 15 and 9. Hard to please everyone, but this came close. The place is beautiful and the staff were knowledgeable and pleasant. Our group's favorite activity was the Gullah cultural presentation. Informative and entertaining. A good way to learn about South Carolina low country history.

Interesting historical location - The building and grounds are beautiful, and set on the property of a historical plantation. Be sure to tour the mansion with a free guided tour. The on-site museum was very interesting and informative.
