This remarkable park is one of Tanzania’s most stunningly situated wildlife areas, featuring a vast but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the base of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s diverse habitat attracts a wide range of animals, including one of Africa’s largest populations of elephants, Manyara’s renowned tree-climbing lions, and large flocks of flamingos drawn by the lake’s algae.
