- Mount Kilimanjaro - The Machame 7-day trek boasts an impressive success rate and is highly appealing. The Machame route is undoubtedly the most popular on the mountain. Over the course of 7 days, trekkers enjoy a remarkable journey with an excellent chance of reaching the summit.
The adventure begins at Machame Gate, situated at an altitude of 1,800 meters, approaching the mountain from the southwest. The first day takes you through a stunning rainforest, before ascending to Shira Camp, where the Lemosho route converges from the west. From this point, the path traverses the southern side of the mountain to Barranco via Lava Tower, and includes climbing the Great Barranco Wall en route to Barafu Camp. After summiting, the descent follows the Mweka trail, avoiding the ascent path.
The Machame route is affectionately known as the ‘Whiskey Route’ due to its perceived difficulty compared to the ‘Coca Cola Route,’ the nickname for the Marangu route. While not technically more challenging, it is longer and steeper in certain sections. The extended distance and the chance to ‘walk high, sleep low’ provide superior acclimatization, resulting in a very high success rate.

All our climbs are equiped with emergency oxygen cylinder.
