- Materuni Waterfalls - Materuni Waterfall stands as the tallest and most remarkable waterfall at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, reaching approximately 150 meters in height. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a coffee farm, gaining insights into the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of coffee. Additionally, they can experience roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee in the traditional Chagga style. Following the coffee tour and tasting, a scenic 30-minute hike through the picturesque hills and valleys leads to Materuni. These areas are adorned with tropical rainforest, as well as coffee, banana, and avocado “shambas,” which is the Kiswahili term for farms. On clear days, hikers can enjoy stunning views of Kibo and Moshi town. The trek to the waterfall’s base can be challenging, so hiking boots are recommended. Visitors can also enjoy a refreshing dip in the waterfall’s cool waters, so bringing swimwear is advised. Pickup from Arusha is available; please contact us for arrangements.
