• Materuni Waterfalls - From Materuni Village, we will embark on a one-hour walk to the waterfall. The journey itself is quite fascinating, as you’ll encounter smaller waterfalls and numerous waterways that form part of the irrigation system used by local farmers who cultivate coffee, bananas, and various other fruits and vegetables. At the waterfall, you can take a refreshing dip in the cool, crystal-clear water—so don’t forget your swimwear! We’ll also pause here for lunch before taking a brief tour of Materuni Village to experience the everyday life of the Chagga tribe. Situated at an elevation of approximately 1300 meters (4300 feet) above sea level, the village is nestled within a striking landscape of towering heights and deep valleys, all enveloped by tropical rainforest.

Coffee Tour

Materuni Village produces a variety of perishable goods, including yam, sugar, maize, and beans. However, the primary crop is coffee. In the village, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the entire coffee production process, from cultivation to the moment it is served steaming hot in your cup.

Materuni Waterfall & Coffee Tour

Located approximately 20-30 minutes from Moshi, the Materuni waterfalls are a perfect destination for those with limited time who still wish to experience the natural beauty of this Tanzanian region. Although smaller than the previously mentioned Ndoro falls, they are still quite impressive at 150 meters high and are certainly worth visiting.

Starting from Materuni Village, the tour includes a 30-minute walk to the waterfall. This walk is particularly fascinating, as it features smaller waterfalls and numerous waterways that form part of the irrigation system used by local farmers to cultivate coffee, bananas, and a variety of other fruits and vegetables.
