Coffee lovers go for it - After my Kilimandscharo trip I wanted to relax a bit and ended up here. Didn't expect much for $37 and thought they just want to sell some local handcrafted stuff. Well, I was wrong. For sure they tried but a first no thanks was accepted. Pickup at the hotel 9:30 sharp with some Chinese motorcycle. It was fun for me but I'm not sure if everyone would like it. The dirt road part was challenging but it was almost dry. Once arrived l got a short introduction about the plan for the day and after another short drive we reached the coffee farm. Innocent, the guide, explained the whole process and took all the time needed. I had a lot of questions and he was happy to answer them all. Then we had the hands on part from the already dried beans to the coffee powder, including getting off the shell, roasting and grinding. And yes at the end we had four cups of coffee. Then we hiked to the waterfall. Could be difficult if it's really wet. You better don't wear your white sneakers. Short bath and then back to the village. Here we had s good lunch with a soup as starter, then two types of rice, beef stew, beans, potatoes, green bananas and spinach (very good). Lastly some fruit. In the tour description it says 5 hrs. I was back in the hotel at 15:15. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it for every coffee lover. I had the "Banana Beer", it's more like a cider. Not my favorite.

Beautiful Trip to Materuni Waterfalls - We had a really good trip to the Materuni Waterfall with Boni. We took the pick up options with the bikes, which was a bumpy ride but fun nontheless. Afterwards we made our own Coffee which was a unique experience. The Waterfall was definetly the highlight of the tour where we took a swim in the cold Kilimanjaro water. On the way there and back we hiked through the beautiful nature while our guide explained a lot about the local plants and traditions. The lunch was also really delicious. We can absolutley recommend this Trip!

Authentic! - Amazing local and very authentic experience :) beautiful and easy waterfall hike. Very tasty coffee and lunch. Innocent one of the three guides knows a lot about the chagga way of life and the surroundings as he grew up and has lived in this village all his life. Can only recommend!

An Unforgettable Trip to Materuni Village and Waterfall - I had a great trip to Materuni village and the waterfall, and I highly recommend it! The tour guides are very welcoming and show a strong commitment to ensuring an unforgettable visit. The preparation of the coffee was a highlight of my trip to Tanzania. Not only was it a fascinating experience, but also the taste was wonderful. The hike to Materuni Waterfall offers stunning views as the way leads through the beautiful landscapes on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. At the end of the excursion, I could enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal prepared with local ingredients. The trip exceeded my expectations!

Good day trip to waterfall - I had nice daytrip to the waterfall. I learned a lot about fruit, made some coffee and saw the waterfall. I recommend this tour to get a good view of the way of life of one of the trobes near the Kilimanjaro. Everything was organised well.

Enjoyed the interaction with the village people. - Fascinating visit with our chagga guide. Waterfall was beautiful as were the people we met along the way. The road was clogged with pedestrians in their Sunday finest on the way to church which was quite a spectacle. The coffee presentation and lunch was quite good. Our guide was excellent and was a resident of the village. Overall a pleasant half day
