Climbing to the Roof of Africa with Altezza! - Climbing Kilimanjaro with Altezza Travel was truly the experience of a lifetime, made even more incredible by how thoroughly everything was planned and executed. From the very beginning, I was impressed by how detailed and organized everything was before we even set foot on the mountain.
What stood out most were all the “little things” that I didn’t expect but came to appreciate so much—like warm washing water every day, the hot water bottle bunnies at night, and thoughtful touches at every stage. The crew of 46 (guides, cooks, waiters, camp managers, toilet crew, and more) worked seamlessly together to make our climb as comfortable and smooth as possible. Our team was absolutely outstanding!
The daily oxygen checks were taken seriously and gave us a sense of confidence and safety throughout the trek. Every guide and crew member went above and beyond—whether it was helping with a stubborn tent zipper, making a special tea request at dinner, or carrying my backpack on summit night and meeting us on the descent from summit night with refreshing hibiscus juice!!
Altezza’s attention to detail, professionalism, and heart made what could have been an intimidating challenge into something unforgettable and surprisingly comfortable. I would recommend Altezza again and again without hesitation! I certainly could not have gotten to the roof of Africa without the support of our amazing guides and incredible crew!! Asante sana!!

Only book Altezza! - Altezza truly made this a trip of a lifetime, and I would recommend them wholeheartedly to family and friends. We did a 4-day safari followed by a 7-day Kilimanjaro trek via the Machame route, and everything was flawless from start to finish. From the very beginning, Sophie was incredible in helping us organise our itinerary, and every detail, from airport pickup to each amazing accommodation was handled seamlessly.
The guides and porters were exceptional, not only highly skilled but also bringing so much positive energy and genuine passion to their work. A special thank you to Endrisha, our fantastic safari guide, and Shabani, our incredible head guide on the mountain, this experience would not have been the same without you both.
We traveled as a group of 13, and every single one of us walked away with the same unforgettable experience. Don’t second guess it … just book with Altezza!!

One of the best tour companies I have ever traveled with. - I joined both a Kilimanjaro trek and a Safari with Altezza, and I was truly impressed by the excellent organization of the tours. Communication and coordination were flawless, and every staff member was polite, professional, and service-minded.
The company really delivers on everything they promise. They provide Wi-Fi, airport transfers, and safari vehicles, as well as GPS tracking so that family can follow your progress during the climb. Valuables can be safely stored while trekking, and there is a full range of high-quality gear available for rent.
During the Kilimanjaro climb, I noticed that Altezza groups were the most numerous at every camp, which makes sense as they are one of the largest and most reputable trekking companies. The climb was very comfortable, and the whole team – guides and porters alike – were polite, attentive, and always took excellent care of us.
As for the Safari, everything was perfect. Our guide was knowledgeable, polite, and enthusiastic about spotting wildlife. The safari vehicles were comfortable and up to standard, with Wi-Fi on board, and complimentary water and soda always available.
Overall, an outstanding experience on both the trek and the safari. Highly recommended!

Altezza Rocks! - We were a group of 11, supported by 56 amazing Altezza team members. They were incredible and there is no chance I would have made the summit without the inspiring help of our trip leader Elia. While the 7 days on and around that mountain were amazing, our memories will be our Altezza friends.

Amazing and Challenging - Truly one of the best experiences of our lives. The scenery was beautiful, the climb was challenging, the accomplishment was well worth the tired legs. The crew from Altezza was top notch. Without them, we would never have made it. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, compassionate, and knowledgeable. We would recommend them again and again.

Altezza Experience and Guides are the Best - Our group all successfully summited and the wonderful team we had from Altezza was a big part of our success. Our group of 6 ranged in age from 15 to 55 and we couldn't have asked for a better company. Our guides, (JT, Lihiru and Godfrey) were the best - friendly, professional, caring, supportive, uplifting and safety conscious. The experience greatly exceeded our expectations from the hot water bottle bunnies at night, the personalized coffee cups, tea breaks, medical checks, an abundance of delicious food and the genuine care for us and our success. There isn't a single thing I would change. My husband and I did the climb 20 years ago and we felt so much better this time, thanks to the expertise and experience of the guides and team. The entire support team (cook, waiter - Rama, camp manager - Stan, and everyone). I highly recommend Altezza if you are considering climbing Kili - they will make it enjoyable, fun and their knowledge will help you succeed.

- I joined a group of 11 other climbers to tackle Kilimanjaro via the 7-day Machame Route with Altezza in July 2025. Altezza certainly is on the pricier end of the tour groups for Kilimanjaro hikes, but the service didn’t disappoint. It also seems that they treat their guides, porters and staff well. Overall organisation and communication pre and post-trek was top notch. I had some bad food poisoning before the trek, and my Altezza contact was able to help arrange a hospital visit for me. My guides for the trip were Albert, Mongi, Starson, Marwa, Lema and Abdullah. They were all great at their job and helped me successfully summit. Huge shout out to all the porters as well for making the experience much more comfortable and being kind along the way.
All of the rental gear was top-notch and there was more than enough food provided throughout the trek. The sleeping mats were also really thick and comfortable. Much nicer than the small fold-out ones I’ve used in the past when camping. Health checks were done twice daily and extra oxygen was carried up to the summit which was good for safety and peace of mind. I would consider using Altezza again for a Kilimanjaro trek, and would recommend to friends and family too.
The biggest downside is the price, and the lack of private-toilet inclusion in the price as I know some other providers do include that. However, for the food, safety, quality of service and communication, I think it was worth it.
