Highly recommended~!!! - First time for me to write a review for joining a tour~! Thank you Altezza for making my Kilimanjaro dream to come true!
All the crew members were very nice and our team mates from different parts of the world were friendly. My boyfriend and I were well taken care of by the crew throughout the whole journey:
- We paid for a portable toilet (it was easy to use and it smelt fine)
- Three meals of every day were delicious~~
- Snacks (cakes, biscuits & nuts) & drinks were provided at tea time! We actually did not have to bring extra snacks :)
- Crew members were very efficient. They packed things once we left & get ALL things ready before our arrival at the camp site.
- All crew members (porters, guides, cooks, waiters, dust masters, washroom cleaners & other roles) were made of steel. They were willing to provide a helping hand to us whenever we were in need to make sure our journey was safe & pleasant (for instance, chasing a mouse out from our tent).
- Summit hike was a climb to remember for a lifetime. My boyfriend and I were affected by mountain sickness in different ways. Thank you my guides (Kibacha, Joseph B, Juma & Adrian) for keeping our morale up and thank you summit porters for taking care of us very carefully~!!
Three more points to add about Altezza (not related to the hike):
1) Altezza staff who contacted us via email & whatsapp was very efficient in providing information & fast in making replies.
2) High flexibility in making adjustment in itinerary. Altezza staff reminded me the time for pick up for activities 1-3 days beforehand. They were willing to arrange earlier or delayed pick up (free) & spontaneous driver service (charged by hour with acceptable fee) upon our request.
3) Our safari driver & guide, Good Luck, was well done at his job!

awesome adventure - I loved the whole experience from start to finish! the guides looked after my group extremely well always looking out for signs of altitude sickness and ensuring that we were well looked after. The food every day from breakfast to lunch to dinner was extremely delicious and had sooooo much to eat. I loved how wr just took our time walking and didnt rush to get to the campsites. The porters were incredible. I found summit night tough but enjoyed the support and atmosphere from everyone cheering us at the bottom after making it up to the top. thank you so much 💓 I love my medal and certificate.

Unforgettable Experience with a 5 Star Enterprise! - We have only good words for Altezza from the first contacts with the administration by email to arrange our stay and they answered our questions quickly and suggested alternatives meeting our needs! On site, logistics, drivers, porters, guides, cooks, etc. Everything was perfect and we felt well accompanied in every detail and security being one of the priorities of the team... A wonderful Kilimanjaro experience with Altezza!! (8-day Lemosho route) - Kilimanjaro was definitely the highlight of my recent trip to Eastern Africa. I expected the trek to be tough/cold (which it was), but I didn't expect it to be SO beautiful. Every day the scenery on the Lemosho route was stunning and varied - I loved it!!
Kilimanjaro can be risky/tough, but I felt incredibly comfortable/safe with Altezza (from the pre-trip booking and information provided, to the gear check upon arrival, to the amazing staff during our trek). I was very impressed with the knowledge of our trekking team, and I followed their advice exactly (and I made it to the top without incident!). I felt very safe and cared for, and appreciated the 2-3x/day health checks and acclimatization advice.
The Kili trekking team (68 members for 14 trekkers!) was phenomenal! When things got tough, they kept us motivated with songs, snacks, and humour. Our cook was great, and provided vegetarian options for me.
Getting the private toilet was the best money I ever spent. ;)
I knew people who tried Kili before, with the shortest route and cheapest tour operators they could find (who don't carry oxygen tanks or even check blood oxygen levels - a big red flag!!); those people got sick during the trek and did not summit. I did my research, and was very happy that I chose Altezza and the 8-day route. I am not willing to "cheap out" and risk my health and safety. I believe the price was very reasonable, considering the QUALITY of the food, gear, and staff, and the convenience of renting gear, storing valuables, airport transfers, arranging hotels, etc., etc.
In summary, do your research, and pick your route and trekking company with care. The goal is to summit safely, after all, and the best way to do that is with a longer route, proper acclimatization, and experienced/knowledgeable guides.

Mount Kilimanjaro with my son and friends- special memories - Amazing Kilimanjaro lemosho route 8 days with Altezza and safari to finish our trip.
I have just returned from the most incredible 8 day lemosho route climb up Kilimanjaro with Altezza travel.
We had amazing service right from the beginning with Sophia- she was very prompt in answering our questions and sorting our trip so we had the best experience.
All the hotels we were booked into were so lovely- clean and the food was delicious-
The staff were very friendly- attentive and couldn't do enough for you.
In preparation for our trek - 2 girls- sorry cannot remember their names came to our hotel and went through all our equipment- it was so thorough- they talked us through everything- so we had the perfect kit that may be needed.
We had 34 people looking after our group of 6- I just cannot say enough about them all- everyone was so helpful- friendly and kind- what an amazing team of people looking after us.
Our guides Kelvin, Godsen and Urio were so knowledgeable and great leaders- I felt so safe and reassured by them.
The food on camp was delicious- there was so much food! Justin our chef was amazing- we were very well fed- Edward, was also brilliant at serving our food and getting what we wanted- always full of cheer.
Andrea looked after our toilet- making sure it was clean- thank you so much- Loya- Loya always came to support us near the end of each day to carry any bags or give any support needed- he was full of smiles and energy- it was always a pleasure to see him.
All the rest of the team were so awesome- the porters were just so inspiring and strong- we are so grateful that you made our trip so memorable and wonderful- Altezza looked after us when my son got altitude sickness on summit night and we had to descend - they arranged transport and sorted out a hotel - they did everything for us- thank you so much to all the Altezza team that looked after us and made our dream come true. One word only- AMAZING.

Perfect trip to Kili!🇹🇿🗻❤️ - Everything was perfect, pre trip Sophia so helpful, always answering question so promptly, tweaking itinerary to make it just right, booking us meal for few hours pre travel home so we not stuck at airport, just one example of attention to detail. Our great driver ebenezer informed office one of our party was not well on journey to Arusha and I got WhatsApp to check how they were and ask if we needed medical support. Pre trip check with Doris was great, informative and checking we were all informed and prepared. The trek guides (kelvin, urio and godsen) were amazing, put us at ease from moment we met, so professional but friendly, working so well as a team to support us. Nothing was to much, they and the entire team worked so hard to ensure we had best chance to summit. The food on mountain by Justin unbelievably good. Edwards service so friendly encouraging us to eat to fuel our adventures. Trainee guides Joseph, Alia and andrea so helpful, especially Joseph on summit night, helping with every detail, even pouring out my smarties so I could keep gloves on! Plus carrying my pack and helping me on steep descent!. Loya loya helping us daily with the most enthusiasm you can imagine, his smile was infectious. Andrea kept our toilets spotlessly clean and fresh! Kelvin and crew made us all feel so safe on mountain, checking on us, reminding us to take meds, suggesting approach when not feeling so strong. The route was so beautiful, and we enjoyed the regular tea stops with snacks to enjoy surroundings and recharge. The hotels selected were perfect, great food and fabulous rooms. We loved the Safari at the end what a way to finish our trip to Tanzania, loved the Masai show at escarpment hotel, as sunset, a perfect last night, all so meticulously planned. I can not recommend altezza enough. Thank you all so much. They were genuinely so pleased on our summit, and got to know us so well!

My Kilimanjaro journey with Altezza was exceptional from start to finish. Their pre-trip communication was prompt and thorough, with seamless airport transfer to Aishi Machame hotel.
Our guides Musa, Polito, and Maro were outstanding professionals who carried GPS trackers allowing loved ones to follow our progress from home. Musa’s laugh has been contagious everywhere he went.
Summit day showcased their true excellence - each climber was paired with a dedicated guide. Special thanks to Erick Mwankenja, whose attentive care ranged from carrying gear to tying shoelaces when needed. Whatever I needed, he was there and genuinely happy to help.
Though a big company, Altezza is really committed to both premium service and ethical practices. They ensure transparent tipping procedures for the expedition crew and direct salary transfers to staff bank accounts while actively supporting the local community.

High Quality Experience Climbing Experience! - Climbing Kilimanjaro had been a dream of mine for years, but I never imagined how much the journey itself would mean to me. I chose the 8-day Lemosho route with Altezza, and from the very first day, I knew I was in the best hands with our guides Bosco, Polite, Godfrey, Nassoro, and Julius, assisted by Raphael and Francis.
Polite, in particular, stood out from the other guides. From day one, he set the tone with a calm confidence that immediately put the entire group at ease. He combined professionalism with genuine warmth, making sure everyone felt supported both physically and emotionally throughout the trek. Thanks to his deep knowledge of the mountain and his incredible ability to sense what each person needed—sometimes a joke to make us laugh, sometimes a story about Tanzanian culture to distract us, and sometimes a song to lift our spirits—11 out of 12 members of our team reached the summit in comfort. One person had to end the climb early due to a preexisting condition.
What really struck me was how much he cared about each of us reaching the summit safely. He checked on us constantly—our oxygen levels, our energy, our spirits. Hours into summit night, when I had embraced zombie mode, it was his calm voice and encouragement that kept me going. Standing on Uhuru Peak as the sun rose was one of the most rewarding moments of my life and I don’t think I would have made it without him.
Beyond his guidance, he helped create an atmosphere that made the group feel like family. He and the whole team of porters, cooks, and guides made camp feel welcoming, safe, and even joyful. Every meal, every laugh, every shared story added to the magic of the climb.
If you’re thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro with Altezza, do it—and if you can, ask for Polite Mboma. He made this trek so much more than just reaching the summit. It was truly a life-changing experience, and I will always be grateful to him for helping me achieve my dream.

I reached the Summit at 68! - Just a short note to say how wonderful & how grateful I was to experience the amazing Mt Kilimanjaro experience. Even more astonishing & to my surprise and great relief I reached the summit!
Our three guides Jaffari, Adam & Julian were wonderful as was Benson the Chef and all of the many others who contributed politely serving us meals, cups of teas.They filled our water & hot water bottles, checked our health, erected & dismantled tents, toilets & showers. Dusted down our boots and bags and of course carried everything with strength and resilience up that very steep mountain!. Always happy and obliging they aided our group including myself and Patrick to achieve what I personally never thought possible. If you are able could you please pass this message on and wish them a long and fulfilling life knowing they have made a difference to many. They also called me Queen Kazza and cheered me on as Mamma Kaz….. something I will always remember
