The hotel offers all the essentials for a pleasant stay: comfortable rooms, hot water, courteous staff, a swimming pool, and Internet access. In the evening, a briefing with our managers will ensure you are prepared to start your climb.

HIGH-ALTITUDE DROP OFF DESTINATION AND TREKKING TO SHIRA 2 CAMP
Mount Kilimanjaro - In the morning, a guide and mountain support crew will meet you at the hotel for another briefing before you travel by vehicle (approximately 3–4 hours) to the western entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park: Londorossi Gate (2,200 m). After quickly obtaining climbing permits and registering with the search and rescue service, the group will proceed to their drop-off point by off-road vehicles (reaching 3,500 meters). Here, you will witness the breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau for the first time. The route from your drop-off point to your first high-altitude camp, Shira 2, involves a moderate altitude gain and is not overly strenuous. This allows you to begin the acclimatization process effectively. Upon reaching the camp, our professional mountain crew will have everything ready, including setting up tents and preparing dinner for you.
This will be your first day at this altitude, so it is highly recommended to follow these instructions from this point forward:
● Avoid alcohol and caffeine ● Drink over 4 liters of bottled water daily (in small, frequent amounts) ● Take a Diamox pill to help alleviate altitude sickness symptoms. Most climbers take Diamox in the morning before starting their ascent to reduce discomfort associated with altitude sickness. It is advisable to consult your doctor before the trip in case of potential allergies.
At night, you may experience discomfort due to acclimatization to the high altitude: as your breathing pattern changes during sleep, your body receives less oxygen than during the day. Considering the altitude, you may start feeling unwell and develop a headache. Pay attention to your body and inform your guide if you experience any symptoms of altitude sickness.
Change in Elevation: Lemosho Glades (3,500 m) — Shira 2 Camp (3,900 m) Hiking distance: 11 km Hiking time: 5–6 hours
TREKKING FROM SHIRA 2 CAMP TO THE LAVA TOWER AND DESCENT TO BARRANCO CAMP
Mount Kilimanjaro - After breakfast, you will leave Shira 2 Camp (3,900 m) and head towards the key point of the route: Lava Tower (4,630 m). This section involves numerous ascents and descents, culminating in a camp at over 4,600 meters. It may be challenging, and you might feel some discomfort, but to acclimate successfully to the altitude, you need to spend at least 1–2 hours here, where lunch will be served.
Then, you will descend to Barranco Camp (3,960 m). Here, you can admire the famous Barranco Wall, impressive in its size and steepness! The next day, you will climb it, but don’t worry: it features a straightforward hiking trail.
Note: If any participants feel unwell, the group may bypass the Lava Tower and adjust the route, following the porters’ path instead. In this case, you will not reach an altitude of 4,630 meters, only ascending to a maximum of 4,400 meters.
Change in Elevation: Shira 2 Camp (3,900 m) — Lava Tower (4,630 m) — Barranco Camp (3,960 m) Hiking distance: 12 km Hiking time: 6–8 hours
TREKKING FROM BARRANCO CAMP TO KARANGA CAMP
Mount Kilimanjaro - An early wake-up, breakfast, and the start of summiting Barranco Wall (it is recommended to leave the camp early to avoid crowds from other groups). Climbing the gorge wall is not difficult and takes about an hour. After the climb, you can rest and take photos in front of the Kibo volcano.
Then, you will embark on a more challenging hike to Karanga Camp, which includes several ascents and descents along the route, but don’t worry: our guides are skilled at setting an optimal pace for the group. Upon reaching the camp, a warm lunch will be provided. After a couple of hours, you will undertake an acclimatization hike towards Barafu Camp with a 300-meter altitude gain, then return to the camp.
Note: The acclimatization hike is an easy trek with a slight altitude gain designed to expedite the acclimatization process. Taking these hikes seriously is crucial as they enhance your chances of successfully summiting Kilimanjaro and protect you from altitude sickness.
Trekking from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp Change in Elevation: Barranco Camp (3,960 m) — Karanga Camp (4,035 m) Hiking distance: 5 km Hiking time: 4–5 hours
Acclimatization hike: Change in Elevation: Karanga Camp (4,035 m) — Destination point en route to Barafu Camp (4,270 m) Hiking distance: 2.5 km Hiking time: 1–2 hours
TREKKING FROM KARANGA CAMP TO BARAFU CAMP
Mount Kilimanjaro - After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Barafu Summit Camp (4,640 m), the starting point for a night ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Our team will have set up camp for you in advance, including tents and sleeping bags, allowing you to relax. After regaining strength, you will complete an acclimatization hike towards the intermediate Kosovo Summit Camp (4,800 m) and then return to Barafu Camp, where a hot dinner will be served. It is advisable to spend the rest of the day resting and sleeping before the night ascent.
Trekking from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp: Change in Elevation: Karanga Camp (4,035 m) — Barafu Camp (4,640 m) Hiking distance: 6 km Hiking time: 4–5 hours

ASCENT TO UHURU PEAK AND DESCENT TO MILLENNIUM CAMP
Mount Kilimanjaro - Departing from Barafu Camp (4,640 m) at night, you will begin the ascent to Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Technically, the climb is relatively straightforward; however, the high altitude presents the greatest challenge. Each pair of climbers will have a personal guide throughout the ascent to monitor physical and mental conditions. After successfully reaching Uhuru Peak, you may descend to the nearest glacier if desired. Then, you will return to Barafu Camp and, after a 2-hour rest, continue your descent to Millennium Camp (3,820 m).
Note: Remember that 90% of all accidents occur during the descent, including broken arms and legs. Please be mindful of your feet, as there is a high risk of damaging your toenails.
Change in Elevation: Barafu Camp (4,640 m) — Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) — Millennium Camp (3,820 m) Hiking distance: 15 km Hiking time: 8–12 hours
DESCENT FROM MILLENNIUM CAMP TO MWEKA GATE
Mount Kilimanjaro - The camp is located in a tropical rainforest. Upon waking, you will feel relieved by the reduced altitude and satisfied with reaching the summit. After a warm breakfast, you will head to the park’s exit: Mweka Gate (1,640 m). After your descent, the entire group will gather to congratulate you, followed by an opportunity to share your thoughts on the climb in the guestbook. Finally, you will receive commemorative certificates at our office and be transferred back to the hotel.
