Arrival Day

Moshi Town - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a warm welcome awaits as the driver will be present in the arrival hall, easily identifiable by a sign displaying the lead traveler’s name or your name if traveling solo. After completing arrival formalities, proceed to Keys Hotel in Moshi town for an overnight stay.

Mkomazi National Park

Mkomazi National Park - At 7:00 am, depart from Keys Hotel in Moshi town and head to Mkomazi National Park with a picnic lunch box for a full day of game drives. Enjoy both morning and afternoon drives, with opportunities to spot cats, hippos, elephants, zebras, buffalo, giraffes, baboons, blue and vervet monkeys, warthogs, and more. The park is home to approximately 350 bird species. Take a break for a picnic lunch in the park. A visit to the Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary is included, with further details provided by the knowledgeable driver guide. Return to Keys Hotel in Moshi town in the evening.

Moshi Airstrip or Arusha Airstrip - Kigoma

Kigoma - Board a shared scheduled flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, enjoy a meet and greet followed by a transfer to Kigoma Hill Top Hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure or embark on a sightseeing tour of Kigoma and Ujiji Town. Dinner and overnight stay at Kigoma Hill Top Hotel.

Kigoma Town – Gombe Stream National Park

Gombe Stream National Park - After breakfast, travel by boat along Lake Tanganyika to reach Gombe Stream. Enjoy lunch at the lodge, and if time allows, begin chimpanzee tracking. Dinner and overnight stay at Gombe Forest Lodge.

Chimpanzee Tracking & Kakombe Waterfalls

Gombe Stream National Park - Following breakfast, continue with chimpanzee tracking and, if time permits, hike to Kakombe Waterfalls in Gombe Stream National Park. Meals and overnight stay at Gombe Forest Lodge.

Gombe Stream National Park – Kigoma Town – Arusha

Kigoma - After breakfast, transfer by boat and then by vehicle to Kigoma airport, with a picnic lunch provided, for a scheduled flight to Arusha / Dar es Salaam to connect with onward travel.

Mkomazi National Park is beautifully framed by the lush slopes of the breathtaking Usambara and Pare mountain ranges. Nearby, the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro provides a stunning backdrop. Gombe Stream National Park is renowned for its chimpanzee tracking opportunities. The park’s main attraction is undoubtedly the chimpanzees that are protected within its borders. Gombe’s scenery is remarkable, with most of its 16 major valleys featuring swift streams that flow year-round. Visitors can encounter the stars of the world-famous chimpanzee community here.

Located in Tanzania, Gombe Stream National Park is home to the Kasakela Group, a clan of chimpanzees. Dr. Jane Goodall dedicated over 30 years to studying individuals like the venerable David Graybeard and the gentle Flo, the matriarch of a chimpanzee dynasty.
