An incredible full day hike in the Atlas mountains with our guide Samir! - We booked Samir through our riad in Imlil for a full day hike. We had a truly incredible experience - Samir was so kind and friendly, he chatted to us explaining the landscape and customs of the Berber villages, he spontaneously stopped to take pictures (and selfies!) of us, and even carried an incredibly heavy backpack that he'd packed with our picnic lunches. Given the trek was off any path, we wouldn't have been able to do it without Samir's expertise (he knows the mountains better than his own pockets!). The hike we did (8 hour loop hike) was challenging and definitely not for inexperienced hikers or those afraid of heights, but the views from the top, the lunch on the summit, and the walk across the ridge were so rewarding and just jaw-droppingly beautiful! After the descent Samir took us to have a delicious mint tea at a small cafe off the road before descending through several Berber villages on our way back to imlil. We definitely recommend this experience and our favourite guide in Morocco, Samir!
