You get what you pay for - safety and excellence when our life is on the line thanks! - We had a brilliant experience. Personalised pick up with another couple. Great big balloon with 16 people in the basket. Our pilot, Mustafa, was very very experienced. 10k+ trips, and he was very safety conscious. Mad us all practice landing before we took off. Explained our trip plan and why it was important. We were away from most of the other balloons and he turned and turned so others could see us - he explained you can’t see another balloon above you. We were up about an hour, it was spectacular. We landed very gently and the team were very efficient. We heard a horror story from another traveller today - their balloon hit the only tree for miles, 3 were injured, one fainted, blood everywhere, one had to go to hospital and he continued to go up - not for long or very high mind you - so hopefully they would ask for money back. That was not our tour operator. Be careful who you choose. We paid $us500 for 2 and it was worth every penny. Breakfast after was great too and a lot of fun with the tea.

Our hot air balloon flight in Marrakesh - Up early in the morning for pick up at 5.15 am. Met our driver who would take us to the balloon site. He was friendly and informative about the area and the site of the balloon take off. After about a thirty minute drive we arrived at the balloon site, where we were met with coffee and the famous mint tea. This was most welcome at this time of morning. There were men with 4x4 s and trailers loading the balloon and items needed. Due to a slight wind they moved the take off point further north of the area we were at. After coffee it was back into the mini bus and then a five minute drive to the new take off point. The balloons were now in an open space and starting to be inflated. We have done balloon flights before but what was different about this one was the basket lay on its side and we were loaded in while laying down , then a group of men pulled on ropes until we were upright. This method worked fine. The pilot and copilot went through safety checks and told us how they would like us to position ourselves when landing. After this the balloon was inflated to full capacity and we started to lift off the ground. Once up in the air it was fantastic, so peaceful and calm. It was great to see the sun rising and fly close to the Atlas Mountains ,there was also about another 20 balloons in the sky that day. The pilot and copilot were very informative about all aspects of the balloon and the flight. After around 45 minutes we began to descend, the pilot told us to take our landing positions and slowly lowered the basket till we were back on the ground. A team of men with there 4x4 and trailer appeared and helped pull the balloon into its right position. Once safe we disembarked and were taken to a big tent like structure. A full Moroccan breakfast was laid out for us. After breakfast we were transported back to our pick up point. The whole trip took about five and a half hours. Well worth the money and a good experience. Before the flight a fella was going round asking if you want a video taken with a drone they send up , it’s only short about three and a half minutes long but a good little keepsake from out side the basket. It cost around 400 Moroccan dirhams and is your choice. All in all a good trip and value for money just remember it is an early start , but worth while

Bucket list experience that doesn’t disappoint. - An experience I was most excited about and one that didn’t disappoint.
A 4.50am pick up ensued at an agreed location as part of a multiple pick up enroute to Marrakech Dream Balloonings base approx one hour away north east of the city.
It was a different experience to see the city so quiet and cooler at that time of the morning which felt a surreal experience and the journey into the middle of what felt like nowhere was an experience in itself as we navigated one bumpy road for another in the darkness.
We eventually reached a location in what I would describe as the outback which later in daylight and from the air was one of several bases for hot air ballooning companies. Our base was professional looking and of a high standard. The restroom facilities were top notch given it was in the middle of nowhere and the reception area was a semi open tent beautifully decorated where we were greeted with mint tea/ bottled water and cake.
We had some time to ourselves and to get to know some of the other passengers having completed an attendance register and watched a drone video of an optional extra video package which comprised of a personal video of you pre boarding and during the flight. Sold as a discounted price of €30 reduce from €50 for footage lasting : minutes personally that “discount” is a sales pitch as no one is buying 3 minute footage for approx £44-45. I went with it as it was a
Bucket list experience and I wanted the memory.
Watching the balloons inflate was just as exciting as the propane flames lit up the darkness and made for some spectacular photographs and as the sky lightened you saw for the first time other balloons in the vicinity all preparing for their respective flights.
Our company had two balloon flights that morning with our basket holding up to 16 passengers and two crew. The basket was compartmented with each shared by up to 4 persons with a middle section for the crew. As the balloon neared its readiness we were called to board and did so by a small set of steps climbing into our designated section as the ground crew acted as ballast and held down the basket.
Within seconds there was some excited hollering as an extended burn instigated the lightest of lift offs which then gained momentum and height very quickly as Aziz the pilot maintained periodic thrust to achieve that hot and cold air equilibrium to maintain an inflated balloon as explained by Mostafa the co-pilot who was the main voice on the flight. Both dovetailed brilliantly and were both very experienced pilots who made the experience very memorable with Mostafa providing a running commentary throughout putting us an ease with his knowledge and joviality answering every question put to him. He’s a funny guy so I won’t give you any spoilers.
The flight was everything and more as you shared the sky with numerous other ballon’s which added to the experience as the did the rising sun as climbed from behind the Atlas Mountains. That was the money shot and nothing short of spectacular.
The flight lasted 40 minutes but didn’t feel short at all. I would try and experience it first hand and not from behind a camera for
the whole flight as it is a breathtaking experience and you want to take in as much of it as you can so a go pro type of camera would be ideal and don’t forget to record the sunrise on slow mo for that extra effect.
At some point the drone made an appearance but I have no idea where the operator was as Mostafa confirmed we were at 3000 ft. It made two appearances to record us as it navigated around both of the company ballon’s.
On the descent we followed the preflight landing instructions bracing ourselves in our compartment and listening to the landing commentary. I felt the balloon descend with control and had watched the ground team following by Landrover and then auickly alighting from their vehicle and running towards us at the point of touchdown. There was a brush with some desert shrubbery which Mostafa said was intentional 🤔, using it to act as a brake as it allowed reduced momentum for the ground crew to jump onto the basket to bring the ballon to a controlled stop which brought a loud cheer as they did so . It was brilliant!!
Our driver had followed the ground crew to the pick up point and we bundled in full
of smiles as we’re taken back to base and for our breakfast which was served on the upper level of the the WC in another beautifully furnished tent room . The breakfast was way more than I expected with a mixture of breads, pastry’s, fruit, boiled eggs, honey and other stuff I can’t recall. After 30 mins or so , then resumed our journey back to Marrakech.
This was by far the best holiday experience. It was professionally run, I felt safe throughout, with plenty of photos to remind us of this amazing experience. Given the cost of ballooning in the U.K., it was really good value and the mountainess and desert landscape far superior imo.
Thank you Marrakech Dream Ballooning.

Great experience with a great company and fab staff! - Fabulous experience! It wasn't certain we'd fly owing to wind and cloud cover - we moved location and from there we were able to lift off and fly - a brilliant experience, once we broke the cloud cover we could see the landscape. We were provided with a lovely breakfast of breads, fruit, eggs, cakes and, of course, tea! All staff were friendly and accommodating, the balloon pilots were knowledgeable and explained the flight as we went along. Bought a video of the flight from drone footage - sent to my WhatsApp a few hours later, good value for money. Would definitely recommend and fly again with this company given the chance, great fun!

Great experience - I recently took a hot air balloon ride with Marrakech Dream Ballooning and it was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, the experience was smooth, thrilling, and breathtaking.
The team was professional, friendly, and made safety a top priority. The pilot was knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts about ballooning and pointing out scenic views. The sunrise added a magical touch, painting the sky in stunning colors.
The gentle ascent was surprisingly calm, and the views were unlike anything I’ve seen before—rolling hills, rivers, and landscapes stretching for miles. The landing was smooth, and we even celebrated with a traditional Marroc breakfast.
If you’re looking for a unique, peaceful, and awe-inspiring adventure, I highly recommend this balloon ride company. I’ll cherish the memories forever!

Sunrise balloon - This was our FIRST ever hot air balloon ride. We went for a sunrise option. We were collected from our hotel in a mini bus at 4:45am - 9 of us (5 adults, 4 children (3,4,6,10)). I would say it was around 45-1hr trip to the balloon location.
Greeted by friendly staff offered cold drinks & tea , there were also muffins available. You are offered to go inside a tent that is decorated beautifully where you fill in forms. A photographer also comes around and offers you their services, this is an additional cost but it wasn't overly expensive. There are toilets that are nice and clean. You then get back in the mini bus and drive out into desert/open land. The balloon is also driven out at the same time so everything is set up while you are there. I would say the setting up and take off of the bloon was rather hectic and quite scary, especially for the children. The basket of the balloon is led on its side and you are put in lying down on your back. The balloon is then inflated with large metal fans that are on generators so the noise and smell is quite intense, all while the staff are running around to get the balloon up. After a bit of rocking back and forth from the staff, our basket was upright and we were ready to go. When you were up in the sky it is lovely and peaceful. It's silent other than when the pilot initiates the gas. It did take us a while to get off the ground so the sun was already in the sky. However, the views were still beautiful. On Landing you advised to get into the brace position. Obviously this made the children a little bit scared considering what takeoff was like but our landing was actually very smooth and the basket stayed upright and we climbed out over the top. You then get back into your minibus and drive back to the tent where a massive berber breakfast is laid out for you. The quantities of food are huge and it's all lovely but it was just far too much results to get. You are then giving you a certificate to prove that you went on your balloon flight. Overall I would say this is awards and lifetime experience. If not a little bit scary I would recommend it but I probably wouldn't do it again.

Soaring over the Atlas. - If you’re visiting Marrakech and debating whether a sunrise balloon ride is worth the early wake-up—let me save you the suspense. With Marrakech Dream Ballooning, it’s not just worth it. It’s unforgettable.
From the start, the experience was smooth and welcoming. We arrived before dawn and were invited into a cozy, beautifully decorated tent where we were offered on fresh Moroccan tea, coffee, and water, enjoyed traditional cake, and relaxed as we awaited transport. The hospitality was warm and genuine—exactly what you hope for at that hour.
Transport to the launch site was timely and well-organized. The crew operated like clockwork, efficiently inflating the balloons in near silence while the sky slowly began to glow. Their professionalism inspired confidence, and it was clear this wasn’t their first flawless takeoff.
Our balloon captain struck the perfect balance between calm expertise and easy charm, guiding us across the horizon as the sun rose behind the majestic Atlas Mountains. The stillness up there, with nothing but the occasional burner flame and panoramic beauty below, was truly magical.
After landing, we were treated to a traditional Berber breakfast, served fresh and enjoyed outdoors. It was the perfect grounding experience after floating through the Moroccan sky. From there, we were transported back to our hotel—tired, yes, but filled with awe and gratitude.
The views, the people, the professionalism—it all makes Marrakech Dream Ballooning a five-star, must-do experience. It’s not just an activity. It’s a moment of wonder you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Disappointing Hot Air Balloon Experience – Should Have Been Cancelled - I recently did a hot air balloon activity, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The weather conditions were clearly not suitable for flying, but instead of cancelling the flight, the company went ahead with it. Due to the poor weather, the balloon couldn’t fly high and we ended up floating just above the power lines. If I wanted to stay that close to the ground, I would have preferred not to go at all. It felt like the flight was carried out just so they could take our money, rather than offering a proper experience. I would have appreciated honesty and a cancellation instead.
