Erg Chebbi Dunes - DAY 1: FEZ - IFRANE - RISSANI - MERZOUGA DESERT
Start your day with an early breakfast at your hotel or riad in Fez. Your English-speaking driver/guide will pick you up in the morning, ensuring ample time to reach Erg Chebbi for a breathtaking sunset. The journey begins by crossing the Saiss plains towards the Cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane. Keep an eye out for Barbary apes along the roadside and take a moment for photos.

Continue to Midelt for a lunch break. From there, proceed across the Ziz River, passing countless palm trees and fortified Kasbahs to reach Erfoud, then onward to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi. Here, your camel caravan awaits to take you on a nomadic ride to witness the mesmerizing color-changing sunset over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

After an early sunrise camel ride, meet your guide in Merzouga. Today’s drive offers one stunning view after another, including the beautiful oasis of Tinghir. Here, you can stroll along the Todgha riverbank, visit Berber villages, and learn about the local lifestyle. Continue your walk to the magnificent Todgha Canyons and enjoy a delightful lunch at a local café.

In the afternoon, travel along the road of the Casbahs to Dades Valley, where you will arrive at your boutique guest house. Dinner and overnight in Dades Valley.

Visit a World Heritage Site and Enjoy the Scenic High Atlas Mountains

Ait Ben Haddou - DAY 3: DADES - OUARZAZATE - KASBAH AIT BENHADOU - MARRAKECH

After breakfast, drive through the Rose Valley, where you may choose to visit a Rose water cooperative and learn how locals create rose-scented perfumes using distilled rose water. Continue to Ouarzazate, passing the Skoura oasis, renowned for its date palm trees, then to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Enjoy lunch before exploring the Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its use in various Hollywood films, fashion, and commercial shoots. The Kasbah is well-preserved, consisting of multiple Kasbahs clustered together, appearing as a single unit.

In the afternoon, begin your descent through the Atlas Mountains via Tizi Ntichka Pass, passing Berber villages with stone and mud houses. Notice how life here remains unchanged for centuries! Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, where your driver will take you to your riad or hotel. This concludes your Fes to Marrakech desert tour.
