Additional Information

Griffintown is a neighborhood in Montreal with a deep historical background and a reputation for being highly haunted. Not only was it home to dying Irish immigrants during the 1847 famine, but it also witnessed the Industrial Revolution and Montreal’s most devastating air catastrophe. Currently, the neighbourhood is experiencing an influx of condo towers, but new inhabitants quickly realise that this area was once a bustling slum – not to mention, it’s heavily haunted!

Participants on the Haunted Griffintown Ghost Walk come across unusual ruins, a contaminated canal, old burial sites, and spooky buildings said to be full of ghosts.

Conducted by a professional actor and storyteller, this adventurous ghost tour is designed to impress ghost enthusiasts, history admirers and Halloween fans with its spine-chilling stories of supernatural occurrences and hauntings in Griffintown.

Great nighttime tour and different way to explore Montreal - My wife and I were in Montreal for a quick weekend a couple of days ago and we took this tour and we had a great time! I forgot our guide's name, unfortunately, but he was great, very informative and funny. What a fantastic way to see and experience a great part of the city you might otherwise miss. It was a cold rainy night, but it was a lot of fun and very informative and interesting! Definitely recommend it and I will probably come back with my son and friends! Thanks for a cool experience.!

Spooky-fun way to learn neighborhood history - Wewent with our family of 5 (teen/young adults) and found it to be a fantastic way to learn about the history of the Griffintown neighborhood and have a spooky-fun evening out. Jason was phenomenal -- very knowledgeable, and a great balance of theatrical and friendly. We all had a great evening.

Private tour with family - My sister and I decided on doing a private tour in Griffintown after hearing about this on the radio. What a great idea it was. We met up with Kara in front of Rockaberry’s and from the time she introduced herself I knew it was going to be a fun tour. The tour was very informative and we had a great time. Thanks Kara for a great evening.

Spooky, entertaining, informative. - I organized this ghost walk as a private tour for my 33rd birthday. As a group of locals we found it an entertaining way to learn about the history of a specific piece of our modern international city. Max was an excellent guide and our whole group liked him.

A spooky way to learn and be entertained. - I gave this tour to my fiance for his birthday but it was really a gift to the both of us. It was such a great experience to learn about our haunted Montreal. Jason our guide was so knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. We were particularly touched by the past lives of our Irish community. So get on your walking shoes and a warm coat and get entertained by the ghosts of Griffintown.. .

A haunted take on Griffintown's history. - It was an interesting evening, getting to know the gory history of Griffintown, the tour guide seamlessly combined history with theatrics, to the point that I couldn't tell when he was joking. I was really hoping the guide would take us into Old Port, near the canal where it definitely feels haunted. All in all, we had a good time and we look forward to being a part of the other tours as well.

Engaging, Entertaining, Educational - I took my daughter and some friends on the tour for her 12th birthday, and we all had a wonderful time! Edna Mae was a wonderful (and patient) guide who was much more forgiving of walking with a bunch of tween girls than I was. Edna Mae was also patient with my obsession with all things paranormal and Smiley Face murders theory. We had a wonderful time! The event is thoughtfully planned, beginning at Rockaberry as a meeting place which allowed me to get properly caffeinated and to feed the girls before their natural cattiness turned into hangry mean girlishness. I would definitely recommend both the tour and intrepid guide, and look forward to joining them on more events like the investigations (without the teen girl energy this time ;) )
