Well worth it! - We had a great guide and the experience was amazing. We saw birds and insects but the highlight was a sloth and her baby climbing and feeding in the treetop!

Fulfilled all expectations!! - What an amazing start to our trip! Our guide did an incredible job of finding all the little night critters. Grateful we chose the 8pm time as that gave him the opportunity to scout animals during the 6pm tour and he knew what to look for. Flashlights provided which was helpful. Thank you!!

Great night tour experience - Dio was a great guide and made sure we saw a variety of creatures, from a pit viper to tarantulas, a couple of sloths and some kikajous. Awesome experience.

Very enjoyable, worthwhile night tour - We were told by our accommodation hosts that this was the best night tour to book and it was very enjoyable. We saw quite a bit of wildlife and our guide was very good.

Temper your expectations - The guide was friendly. And he was able to spot a sleeping toucan and a viper. But don’t go in thinking you’ll see all the exotic animals you see on billboards. The night tour is a quintessential experience if you’re in Costa Rica.. I get it. But it was a lackluster experience. The flashlights provided were weak — we had to depend on the guide’s flashlight to see the trail in front of us. Overall it was neat but not remarkable my any means.

Crowded and pricey for what it was - Our guide knew his stuff and was friendly. Despite our group's manageable size, the place was packed with people from other groups, making it hard to see animals sometimes, or even move around at times. Saw just a few animals like a frog, some birds, a hidden tarántula, and a distant sloth - nothing you couldn't see in the daytime with better light. Couldn't get any good pics either because it was too dark. I had better experiences and better pictures walking alone in national parks. The whole thing was shorter than promised too. It was pretty pricey for what it was. I wouldn't really recommend it.

Guides cannot control nature. Buyer beware. - Our guide Dio was amazing. He had a LOT of great information. Unfortunately he cannot control nature. We saw no sloths, no scorpions, no owls, and no monkeys. Again, not Dio’s fault, but for $90 through Trip Advisor for 2 people (people paying at the location paid $70 per couple) it was very disappointing. Tipped Dio $10 because we felt bad for him when the rest of our group just bolted. Going inside the Ficus tree was very cool! The 3,000,000 ant, ant hill was cool too. By way of comparison, we paid $55 for the Cloud Forest Reserve with parking and it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. My girl and I are very laid back, I don’t write this review from a place of anger. It’s only money. Your mileage may vary. Pura Vida

Waste of money and time - I was not impressed. The ticket counter was complete chaos. The guide was very good and nice. Saw ants, one snake and a few sleeping birds. Big deal, ugh. $41 per person was too costly to see so little for 2 hours. Boring

100 people in a tiny reserve - A disappointing experience, not because of what you see, but because of the Disneyland-style organization. The tour was a victim of its own success. Around 100 people and a dozen groups wander around a tiny reserve. As a result, we spend more time listening to the other groups and coming across flashing lights than animals. As soon as an animal is found, all the groups converge on it, and we end up feeling sorry for the disturbed animal. It's best to opt for other, smaller group tours.

Fairly awful. - Fairly awful. Arrived to find a loud crowd of perhaps 100 people. The tour says groups of 5 or 6 which is true but there are perhaps 20 groups all walking G similar trails. You can hear the groups as you walk around, not the sounds of the forest. Very commercial production line. If you are serious about your wildlife don't do this tour!
