With ancient origins, it has likely been produced in the area since the earliest settlements. Departing Pienza, the drive will proceed along one of the most picturesque “Tuscan wine roads,” celebrated for the iconic images found in many Tuscany travel books: rows of cypresses, rolling hills, wheat fields, and vineyards. This area has been the backdrop for films such as Gladiator and Under the Tuscan Sun.
-
Montalcino - The tour will then move to Montalcino for another wine tasting at a distinguished winery and farm. This historic family has been producing Brunello for generations. Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy’s most esteemed wines, made exclusively from “Sangiovese Grosso” grapes grown on the slopes around Montalcino.
Guests will tour the farm and cellars, where a brief wine lesson on local production will precede the tasting of the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino wine. Five wine tastings include: - 1 Rosso di Montalcino
- 2 Brunello riserva
- 1 Super Tuscan
-
1 Rosé
At the conclusion of the visit, guests will be returned to their accommodation. (Hotel, B&B, or private flat).
