• Rose Hall Great House - The Rose Hall Great House is an early 18th-century plantation residence situated on a high elevation amidst thousands of acres in Rose Hall, Montego Bay. This house was once owned by the infamous Annie Palmer, known as one of Jamaica’s most notorious plantation owners, who possessed hundreds of slaves. Following her tragic death in 1831, the house became haunted. Even during the day, it presents a daunting appearance. Although there is no stop at the Rose Hall Great House on the way to Negril, the tour guide will share its history and slow down for photo opportunities.
• Greenwood Great House - Constructed in the early 18th century, the Greenwood Great House is a plantation home like many others in Jamaica, built at a high elevation. This strategic positioning was used during the plantation era for overseeing the plantation and ensuring security. Unlike the Rose Hall Great House, Greenwood is not haunted and offers a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The house’s history and architecture are truly captivating. As you pass by, feel free to take photos when the tour guide slows down.
• Columbus Park - Located in Discovery Bay, Columbus Park was originally named Puerto Seco “Dry Harbour” by Christopher Columbus in 1494 when he and his crew landed on the island. They initially struggled to find fresh water but later discovered it about 5 miles west, naming the location Rio Bueno (“Good River”). In 1947, Puerto Seco was renamed Discovery Bay, marking the spot where Columbus and the Spanish landed on May 4, 1494. The park, currently closed for renovations, displays several old relics and artifacts. There will be a brief stop to capture photos and the rich history of this historic town.
• Runaway Bay - This tour takes you through one of Jamaica’s most popular towns, Runaway Bay, known for its natural beauty and scenic views. It is nestled between the stunning coastline and lush green mountains. The origin of its name is debated; some believe it was named after the last Spanish soldiers who fled from British troops led by Governor Ysassi after the 1655 British invasion, while others argue it was an escape route for slaves heading to Cuba. Be ready with your cameras as you explore this area.
• Dunn’s River Falls and Park - Experience the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls, where you can climb the falls in a human chain led by experienced guides. Dunn’s River Falls Park offers a perfect setting for family fun and relaxation, with delightful discoveries at every turn. The resident guide will lead you to the beach where the tour begins. The climb from the beach to the top is approximately 600ft (183 meters), with pools along the way for photo opportunities and enjoyment. Let the cascades embrace you as you ascend. Pause at the ‘massage parlour’ to feel the soothing effects of the water cascading to the sea. Exit points are available if you wish to stop, and you can rejoin your group at the finish. For those less adventurous, observe the activities from the terrace or deck. The total experience lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
• Ocho Rios - Known as the heartbeat of St. Ann’s garden parish, Ocho Rios is a paradise for nature lovers. Once thought to be watered by eight rivers, Ocho Rios offers a lush landscape of caves, gardens, rivers, and white sand beaches. The name Ocho Rios actually comes from “Las Choreras,” meaning “waterfalls,” reflecting the area’s many waterfalls. • Blue Hole - A scenic drive along the north coast with breathtaking views of the coastline and turquoise waters leads to the Blue Hole and Secret Falls. Nestled in the hills of Ocho Rios, away from the bustling towns, lies this pristine, untouched gem. The Cool Blue Hole oasis offers stunning natural beauty and thrilling fun. Enjoy the vibrant blue water in the natural mineral pool surrounded by lush rainforest. Have fun jumping into the deep pool, swinging on Tarzan ropes, or swimming under the caves. A 5-minute hike through the woods leads to the amazing Secret Falls. Be in awe as you journey through the lush vegetation to the Secret Falls, where the cascading waters embrace you for incredible photo opportunities.
