• Monastery of Profitis Ilias - The first stop is the Profitis Ilias Monastery, established in 1711 at the peak of Mount Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah). Situated approximately 600 meters above sea level, it is the highest point in Santorini. This monastery is renowned for its historical importance, featuring churches, chapels, a bell tower, and a wealth of 18th-century religious artifacts. The views from this vantage point are truly stunning.
• Akrotiri Archaeological Site - The Akrotiri ancient city excavations reveal one of the most significant and well-preserved prehistoric settlements in the Aegean. The town was buried under volcanic ash after a 17th Century BC eruption. Today, a bioclimatic roof covers the site, and walkways are suspended above the ruins, allowing visitors to explore the buildings. The entrance fee is 12 euros per person, not included in the tour rate.
• Red Beach - Enjoy a brief visit to the renowned “Red Beach,” perfect for capturing stunning photos of one of the island’s most picturesque and intriguing beaches. This volcanic sand beach is made up of black and red pulverized rock, meeting the deep blue sea.
• Lighthouse - Next, travel to the island’s southwest end to visit the lighthouse and take in the spectacular views.
• Vlychada Beach - Experience one of Santorini’s most atmospheric and lesser-known beaches, where sculpted volcanic cliffs meet tranquil, shallow waters. Walk along the dark sandy shore, explore the charming nearby fishing port with its moored boats, and enjoy a leisurely seafood lunch at a seaside taverna known for its fresh catch. • Megalochori - Traditional Village - Discover one of the island’s most characteristic local villages. Megalochori is nestled in the island’s wine-producing area, where many families historically made their own wine. After a busy morning, there is an opportunity to visit one of Santorini’s largest beaches, covered with black volcanic pebbles. Relax and enjoy a meal at a seaside restaurant. Choose between Perivolos beach or Kamari beach.
