The best guide and spectacular higher views! - We did this tour for the final days of our holiday. Jose was very diligent at all times asking for our location and how the trek was going all along the 2 days tour. The scenic ride to the starting point of the hike is long but totally worth it. The starting of the hike is challenging with heat and humidity along jungle paths, Inca trails of ancient and mysterious design that follow astrological shapes. The energy of the area is invigorating, it feels like time travel and feeling new at every step. I highly recommended this specially for leaders. The steep parts are really strong and at all times you feel the Mountains gravity, can’t explain. Our guide Atayu was very friendly and knowledgeable with incredible insights about the Inca culture, we learnt heaps from him. When we reached the point of Llaqtapata we had a time to observe all the Machupicchu Valley and the ridge over which Machupicchu sits, this ads a different dimension more terrenal of the citadel but at the same time it tells how wise we’re those guys to seeing such spots with astronomical precision and beliefs. Our Guide explained us how the Incas chose their sacred places by following an imaginary mystical grid based on the constellations 🌌 and sacred animal shapes they believed meaningful. The sole idea they built a whole empire based on that global stelar grid, blows my mind. The effort and design to build all the citadel and towns in alignment with a mystic and stars movement, is simply out of this world! On the way down from that moment we reached Aguas Calientes and next day visited Machupicchu. The classic spots were crowed but we had access to the Machu Picchu mountain, another challenging hike towards the highest mountain in front of Machu Picchu. From the top we had a view of the clouds ascending from the rivers as a veil of mystery over Machu Picchu. The views are magical and if you lucky you can see a circular rainbow. Our guide was calling us from a side while we were taking pics and said hey look at this, we walked towards him and as we loomed over the edge of the ridge , we saw a circular rainbow, we never seen before such a thing! Apparently it is because the river makes almost a complete circle around the base of the mountain and the effect comes from that. It was breathtaking to say the least to see an circular rainbow below our feet way down The Valley. This was priceless and can’t beat anything seen in my life. Magical place! The train back to Cusco was elegant and comfortable. Thanks so much Kontiki and Apus!

Superb...simply magical! - My girlfriend and I completed to 5D 4N Salkantay Trek with our guide Ruben. We had a superb experience throughout the 5 days finishing in Macchu Picchu. It’s worth mentioning that from chatting with other groups we paid comparatively less than those who had went with other companies and have to say that the food and accommodation throughout was superb! Special mention to our guide Ruben who was extremely informative and accommodating throughout the 5 days and made the experience what it was! On the 5th Day we had a private tour to summit with the guide Kelvin. Montana Machu Picchu is an extraordinary bonus to see Machu Picchu from the top of highest mountain in front of the citadel, almost no other tourists around and simple stunning! We recommend not to skip this part since it's simply magical! Overall would highly highly recommend KH and Ruben to anyone thinking of doing Salkantay. 10/10

It was amazing! - I did the Salkantay Trek 5D/4N (18-22 December) and it was a beautiful and physically demanding experience, but totally rewarding. Everything was excellently organized, with impeccable logistics and always on time, thanks to the team led by Atilio and the amazing team of cooks (the food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!). Our guide Reuben was amazing: very patient, especially with those of us who went further back (myself included 😅). I never felt alone or in a hurry. In addition, he explained about plants and the natural environment; it was clear that he enjoys and knows his work very much. Her English is good, clear and easy to understand (I was the only one who spoke Spanish). Thanks also to the great group and the whole team. I ended up tired, happy and very grateful. I totally recommend it! 🌄💛
