- Museo Carmen Thyssen Malaga - Since 1992 the Thyssen family’s art collection has been on display at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid. However, Carmen Thyssen has been an art collector in her own right since the 1980s, and her personal collection is shown separately across the most beautiful cities in Spain. In 1999, she agreed to display many items from her collection in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum for a period of twelve years. Meanwhile, a home for her collection was sought in Málaga. This museum, a conversion of a sixteenth-century building, opened to the public on 24 March 2011.
The Carmen Thyssen Museum of Malaga is dedicated to conservation, research and the dissemination of the Carmen Thyssen Collection in order to emphasize the value of Spanish painting, especially that of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, fully referenced in its historical and artistic context, for the understanding of all audiences, which forms part of Malaga’s strategy as a cultural city.

Excellent experience - worth seeing - Not really one for normally visiting museums, but really enjoyed this.
A really beautiful museum that has been presumably funded by Carmen Thyssen - excellent display of Spanish art.
Nice coffee shop and book store
Definitely with a visit.

A museum gem - We went on Sunday, free admission, last day in our city, having visited many other emblematic sites, and we loved it. It's a kind of art we like, but apart from that, the building is an architectural wonder, and the exhibits are very well put together. It is a relatively short visit, in the city center, and has an amazing gift shop. Once again, grateful to the Thyssen family for their legacy to such important cities worldwide as Madrid or Malaga.

Ode to Andalusian painters - Very nice presentation of painters unknown to the general public.
Paintings very well presented ,lighting, spacing,..
The temporary exhibition is also worth a visit.

Amazing, do not miss this! - We were really surprised how good this gallery was and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.The gallery is large,bright with lots of amazing beautiful and interesting pictures showing Spanish life over the past few hundred years.I had not heard of any of the painters but preferred this gallery to the Picasso one.It also has big lifts to each floor, nice clean toilets and a great restaurant.My top tip is to do lunch at the restaurant, it is quiet, has air con and lovely food at reasonable prices and is a a great option when all the restaurants in town are busy.

Wonderful guided tour - For the day of Andalusia we have enjoyed the wonderful guided tour led by Yésica. We found it very entertaining and didactic. We will return to continue learning and enjoying.

Depends on exhibits - This is one of spains good museums but the permanent collection is average and only the visiting exhibit are really worth it. In this case I should have passed. The collection in Madrid is better

Not most modern, but worth it - Bit of a dusty museum, not the most modern.
Does give a good picture of history.
