Malaga - Private tour of the Rock of Gibraltar with private English speaking official guide to give you a wonderful insight of the history and culture of this spectacular place. / / Standing over the entrance to the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean, the Rock of Gibraltar has been renowned for centuries, for its beauty and natural wonders. Probably the most famous of all are the Barbary Apes, which are the only free-roaming primates anywhere in Europe, its impressive scenery and views to die for and its military strategic location that has been the cause of many struggles through out the centuries.
With a mix of British, Spanish, Italians and Jews, along with many more nationalities, the population of Gibraltar has grown into a very cosmopolitan place to live, thanks to the new financial district and online gaming industry, created on reclaimed land from the sea.The historic center of the old town, with its elegant colonial architecture, and the picturesque former fishing village of Catalan Bay on the eastern side of the Rock have been enhanced by comfortable modern dwellings for the local population, along with luxury homes that cater for the many wealthy residents of the Rock.Gibraltar provides a wealth of shopping facilities that would not seem out of place in the UK.
Ruled by the British since 1703, and suffering through many struggles and conflicts. Gibraltar is now a wealthy place, with thousands of visitors coming on excursions from Malaga and the Costa Del sol, as well as a very popular cruise port destination.
