Great way to enjoy traditional Peruvian cuisine - Daniel was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and organized as he walked with us through the Miraflores area of Lima for this food tour. His English was excellent and his personality was very engaging. After taking our ship-provided shuttle bus from the dock to Miraflores (a 45-minute ride), we walked several blocks to meet Daniel in a central area of Miraflores. We kept in close communication with him and he was very helpful in providing us information on our options to meet him (walk or take Uber from our drop-off point). Would recommend tourists always provide tour providers your WhatsApp contact information and get their information as well (and be sure to have an international cellular plan). It provides a way to connect with your tour provider, especially if you have any issues regarding your ship's schedule or where to meet the tour guide. We spent the next several hours walking to several eating establishments and the food market for locals, sampling the typical local cuisine -- an appetizer of potatoes with sauce, ceviche, lamb with cilantro sauce, smoothies made with local fruits, and chocolate dessert (at a chocolate "workshop" that included a demonstration of how they process chocolate)-- as well as fresh fruits (only ones that could be peeled). No worries about negative effects from any of the food -- we had no gastrointestinal issues whatsoever. We finished on time and had no problem returning to the pickup point for our shuttle bus ride back to the port. Would highly recommend this tour -- it was a highlight for us and a great way to get a feel for the Peruvian people and their food.
