• Jiron de La Union - Once the city’s most significant road, Jirón de la Unión was known for its aristocratic atmosphere and as a meeting place for the city’s most renowned residents. Today, it is a popular commercial street, yet its historical essence remains.
• Iglesia y Convento La Merced - The convent and church of Nuestra Señora de la Merced are as ancient as the city of Lima itself. Historical records indicate that the land on which they were built belonged to the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy. The church features a variety of reredos, with a fire-gilded altarpiece. At the center of the altarpiece is an image of the Virgin of Mercy, declared the “heavenly protector of Lima” in 1615.
• Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor) - This is Lima’s most significant square, offering stunning views of the Government Palace. The main cathedral is also situated here, enhancing the square’s allure.
• Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas - The Catacombs of the Basilica of San Francisco served as the city’s old cemetery during colonial times, featuring catacombs from that era.
