The guided Jeep tour will start from the park’s main entrance situated near the parking area. Guests lodged within a 10 km range of the entrance benefit from a free pickup service from their Habarana or Minneriya hotel. The morning wildlife tour kicks off at 6:00 am, and the afternoon expedition starts at 1:00 pm.
As you embark on the safari, expect to see clusters of elephants, crocodiles lounging on the shores or swimming in the lakes, and colorful raptors engaged in fishing. There’s also a chance to spot other diverse birds and wildlife, including scores of elephants that stop by to drink and relax.
