San Francisco – Sundial Bridge – Shasta Dam

San Francisco - Today, the journey will take us to the Sundial Bridge, a true masterpiece of art. Afterwards, we will head to Shasta Dam, the most renowned dam in California! It promises to deliver an unexpectedly delightful surprise! It has been hailed as one of the greatest engineering achievements of all time.

Itinerary:

San Francisco → Sundial Bridge (30 mins) → Shasta Dam (Mandatory, 60 mins) → Klamath Falls

Sundial Bridge - The Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay is a globally acclaimed pedestrian bridge and public art installation that spans the Sacramento River in Redding, linking the north and south campuses of Turtle Bay Exploration Park. As its name implies, the Sundial Bridge functions as a sundial and is among the largest in the world. The sundial’s shadow traces such a vast arc that it can only record four hours a day, from 11am to 3pm. It is not accurate in winter as the shadow extends too far into the arboretum to be visible. The bridge celebrates human creativity and ingenuity, key themes of the 300-acre Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The steel, glass, and granite span creates a sense of weightlessness, and the translucent, non-skid decking offers spectacular views at night. The bridge is also environmentally considerate of its river setting.

Shasta Dam - (Mandatory, 60 mins)
Shasta Dam, surpassed only by Hoover and Grand Coulee dams when it was completed on the Sacramento River in 1945, is awe-inspiring not only for its immense size but also for its majestic location in the southern range of the Cascades. The 602-foot-high, concrete, curved gravity dam holds back the vast blue reservoir, Lake Shasta, which features a 365-mile shoreline nestled among evergreen hills and the snow-capped volcanic peak of Mount Shasta.

Crater Lake National Park – U.S. Route 101 – Redwood National Park

Redwood National Park - Today, the drive will take us to the stunning Crater Lake National Park. Following this, we will travel along U.S. Route 101 and visit the Redwood National Park Visitor Center. Overnight stay at Klamath Falls.

Crater Lake National Park (Mandatory, 120 mins) → U.S. Route 101 → Redwood National Park Visitor Center (Mandatory, 30 mins) → Eureka

Humboldt Redwoods State Park – Napa Valley – San Francisco

Founders Grove - Walking along the forest trail, you will encounter redwood trees that are about a thousand years old. The towering sea redwood forest is enchanting, and one cannot help but marvel at the wonders of creation! Hiking on the Shenmu Trail, take a deep breath of nature!

Napa Valley - Napa Valley is undeniably one of the world’s most renowned wine regions. The visit will include the famous Sutter Home Chateau, where five types of wine will be tasted: Reserve White Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio, Zinfandel, Moscato, and Zinfandel Port!

• Parking: Parking is not available at the meeting point. Transportation to and from the departure location is not included.
• Closed Attractions: If a scenic spot is closed, an alternative will be provided. COVID-19 may affect attraction hours and capacity.
• Booster Seats: For state law, Children under the age of 6 require a booster seat in order to participate in the tour group. Please understand that the violations and fines are borne by the guests themselves. There is no need for a booster seat for bus travel on the day of travel.
