The historic city of Mykonos (Chora) captivates with its stunning beauty and charm. Known locally as Chora, this traditional Cycladic village is nestled around a bay. Cars are restricted in the central area for most of the day, making a stroll through its winding streets especially delightful, particularly in the early morning. - Agios Ioannis Diakoftis - This coastal settlement is situated on the southwest side of the island, approximately 5 km from Mykonos Town. It is famously known for scenes from the movie Shirley Valentine that were filmed here.
- Kanalia - Experience a breathtaking coastal retreat where panoramic sea views meet enchanting landscapes. Ideal for photographers, this area offers perfect spots to capture stunning views framed by tranquil waters and picturesque scenery. A true visual delight.
- Choulakia - Renowned for its distinctive smooth pebbles and crystal-clear waters, Choulakia Beach in Mykonos is a protected area offering a peaceful, untouched landscape, ideal for nature enthusiasts and spectacular sunset views.
- Armenistis Lighthouse - Since 1891, the Armenistis Lighthouse (Faros Armenistis) has stood as a guardian over the area. It serves as a tribute to Mykonos island’s rich maritime history while remaining fully operational today. Located on the north-western part of the island, in the Fanari area, about 6.5 kilometers from Chora (Mykonos town) on the north coast road, the lighthouse overlooks the sparkling blue waters between Mykonos and the neighboring island of Tinos.
- Agios Sostis Beach - Agios Sostis in Mykonos is one of the island’s most tranquil beaches due to its location, away from the bustling southern beaches. It is an untouched area without any facilities, offering visitors a sense of complete freedom. On the way to the beach, the beautiful church of Agios Sostis can be seen.
- Palaiokastro - The Monastery of Paleokastro in Mykonos is situated on a hill near Ano Mera, the island’s second village, in one of its greenest areas. It includes a nunnery dating back to the 18th century, featuring typical Cycladic architecture.
- Ano Mera - Ano Mera in Mykonos is the second largest village after Chora (main town) and is one of the island’s oldest villages. It is a peaceful village where locals continue their daily lives without the interruption of tourist crowds, unlike the capital. Near Ano Mera is the monastery of Panagia Tourliani, which houses a remarkable collection of icons by a Cretan painter, as well as holy vessels and vestments. The beautiful bell tower and marble fountain in the courtyard are worth visiting. Ano Mera also features taverns along its main square, offering traditional dishes at reasonable prices. Cafes and pastry shops are also located around the square.
- Monastery of Panayia Tourliani - Established in 1542 by two priests, the Monastery was named after the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The building’s architecture is impressive, with a whitewashed exterior and a colorful dome. A beautiful marble fountain is located in the yard outside the church. Inside, there is an impressive wooden iconostasis (altar screen) crafted in 1775 by Florentine artists.
- Divounia Beach - Known to some locals as “Venus’s Breasts” due to their shape, Divounia is an area that was once a small fishing settlement, the closest Mykonos has to a fishing village! In the mornings, regardless of the season, one can capture many authentic fishing scenes, which are rarely seen in places like Mykonos and may not even be imagined to exist there.
- Mykonos Secret Spot - This hidden gem, known only to permanent residents of Mykonos, offers a unique opportunity to capture stunning photographs. The view is sure to captivate you.
