Los Haitises boasts extensive untouched mangrove forests, hidden beaches, ancient caves, and island formations scattered across San Lorenzo Bay. The plentiful red mangroves, stretching for miles, serve as a natural nursery for young marine life, shielding them from larger predators in open waters. The park is teeming with diverse wildlife, including numerous bird species, reptiles, amphibians, and crustaceans. Additionally, Los Haitises is home to two endangered land mammals—the Hispaniolan Hutia and the Solenodon—both of which are unique to the Dominican Republic.
