A Journey Through Time and Nature

Our guide, Joel, was a master of his craft, effortlessly switching between languages and weaving tales of Dominican history that brought each site to life.

Our first stop was Los Haitises National Park, a place where nature and history intertwine. The towering rocks, some reaching up to 98 feet, jutted out of the water like ancient sentinels. As we sailed through the lush mangroves, I couldn’t help but feel a deep connection to the land and its stories. The endangered birds soaring above us were a reminder of the delicate balance of nature, a theme that resonates deeply with my own life by the sea.

The caves were a highlight, offering a glimpse into the lives of the Tainos who once called this place home. The pictographic paintings, over 500 years old, were a testament to a rich cultural heritage that still echoes through the ages. Watching the transformation from seed to Nutella was a fascinating process, one that left me with a newfound appreciation for the flavors I often take for granted. The lunch that followed was a feast for the senses, a delicious spread of cultural dishes that left me craving more.
