The tour starts with a very quick run-through of technique, once you have carried your paddle & board to the water. It's more of a hands-on, learn on the go experience - not a structured lesson. Be strong and face your fears! I fell in twice before getting the hang of it. Beware, the board is much heavier than a surfboard and the walk is about 5 minutes. If you're on the slim side, you'll want padding on your hip to ease the pressure of the weight of the board while you walk from office to water. Not LED - it was a flashlight attached to the bottom of the board. There was not much marine life. I saw 1 fish and the others saw none. The route is more to see the real estate, the back yard of nice Miami houses and people's parked boats. The water smelt funny in some areas, like rotten fuel. We didn't wash our swimming clothes right after the Sunset Glow Tour, as we went straight to dinner, but later on our clothes smelt like something toxic. My eyes were red for a couple of days afterwards ( because I fell in the water while learning). And I wish I didn't have to disclose this but... I had pretty severe thrush as well. :-/ The sense of achievement was great, but I would not suggest this tour to someone else without knowing these details. This is not the experience I was expecting for $65 a pop. The facilitator / SUP teacher was friendly, considering we were running late (our Uber dropped us at another address, so we called him for the right info and ran to the right address. Once again, we apologise for that! I would suggest going very early incase this happens to you as well. We could store our things in a safe place / the office, which was great. No showers or bathroom though, so be prepared! Bring your phone if you want pics (ziploc it!), there's a way for you to tie it to the board safely. Bring insect repellant as it gets a bit stingy after sunset.
