A Day of Global Adventures at Zoo Miami

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that promise both fun and education for the whole family. So, when I heard about the Zoo Miami Adventure, I knew it was a must-visit for us. With my husband and our two kids, aged 6 and 3, we set off for a day of exploration and excitement.

The moment we stepped into Zoo Miami, it felt like we were embarking on a global journey. The zoo is beautifully laid out, with lush greenery and vibrant plants lining every path. It’s a feast for the eyes and a perfect backdrop for family photos. Our kids were immediately captivated by the variety of animals, and I was thrilled to see their eyes light up with wonder.

We started our adventure in the ‘Amazon and Beyond’ section, where we encountered jaguars, anacondas, and even a 48,000-gallon aquarium. The highlight for me was the incredible variety of frogs. We were lucky enough to spot a leaf full of red-eyed tree frog eggs, which was a fascinating sight for all of us.

Feeding Giraffes and Cheese Fries Delight

One of the most memorable experiences of the day was feeding the giraffes. For just a few dollars, we got to share this special moment with our kids. Watching their little hands reach out to feed these gentle giants was heartwarming. It’s these small moments that make family trips so special.

After our giraffe encounter, we took a break at the Oasis Grill. The cheese fries were a hit with everyone, providing the perfect fuel for the rest of our adventure. It’s always a bonus when you find good food options that cater to both kids and adults.

We didn’t opt for any of the additional feeding upgrades or the monorail this time, but it’s something we’re considering for future visits, especially when the grandparents join us. The zoo offers so many options that there’s always something new to try.

Splash Pads and Future Plans

The weather was perfect, with temperatures in the low 80s, making it an ideal day for outdoor exploration. Zoo Miami is well-equipped with water fountains, restrooms, and water misters, ensuring a comfortable visit even on warmer days. The splash pads were a huge hit with our kids, and we’re already planning to bring swimsuits for them on our next visit.

As we wrapped up our day, we couldn’t help but feel excited about the year ahead. With a membership in hand, we’re looking forward to many more visits, exploring special programs and exhibits. Zoo Miami truly loves its animals, and it’s evident in the care and attention given to their habitats.
