Another one for my bucket list !!! - We drove our own vehicle and only booked the flight. We arrived at 05:45, but did get slightly lost, as it was very dark and the GPS was giving confusing directions, lots of dirt roads and such, so just prepare for that. It was chilly (end of Jan) so also plan to bring warm clothes. We stayed in our car to warm up, as the departure was not until 06:45ish. 3 balloons were being set up. The basket contained 4 persons per corner, so 12 total. Up & down was so smooth, it wasn't scary or nauseating. Carlos, was our guided when we arrived, his English was really good and he was able to answer all our questions. They asked about our weight, but didn't seem to care that my spouse was 8kg over the limit. There was over 50 balloons in the air. We passed over both pyramids. They (separate company) had a drone come by a few times and you could buy the footage. What a wonderful experience !

An Unbelievable Experience! - Everything about this tour is perfectly orchestrated. Pickup is prompt, the staff is friendly and engaging, and the experiences are unique and so much fun! Our driver was Oscar, and our guide was Carlos. Both were communicative and made each step smooth and fun. We never felt pressured to spend extra money, which can sometimes happen on these trips, so it really was relaxing from start to finish. The balloon ride was incredible. I'm typically not a fan of heights, so I was a little nervous going in, but it was so smooth! I never once had that anxious "uh oh" feeling, and just got to enjoy the majesty of the pyramids at sunrise. Breakfast in the cave restaurant was very fun, with a beautiful traditional ingidenous performance. My one recommendation would be to download an audio guide of the archeological site ahead of time! It made our time there much more engaging, and we got a lot out of it in a short amount of time. We were picked up around 4:30am, and were back at our hotel around 1pm, so plenty of time for our 4pm walking tour! It was a long day, but the early start means you still have so much time on the back half of the day!

10/10 - Amazing experience! Staff was knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history about: agave, tradition, stone, (fake stone), and you get to drink! Totally worth the experience and the gift shop has some seriously cool handmade stuff!

A scam - I regret booking this experience. Of all my years of traveling, this ranks among the worst. 1. Transportation & communication I requested pickup confirmation and details two nights in advance. I received a vague response only the day before, saying the driver would contact me “at night or in the morning” — despite a 5:00am departure. No one contacted me. I waited in the hotel lobby until a small Toyota Sienna arrived. Passengers were seated in the front and back, forcing my companion and me into the rear seats with virtually no legroom for the nearly hour-long ride. 2. Hidden and changing costs At check-in, the guide informed us that pyramid entry fees had doubled - the listing had not been updated. We were also told — for the first time — that we needed to pay for vehicle parking at the pyramids (150 MXN total / 30 MXN per person). I had brought enough cash based on the listed costs for entry, snacks, and tips; these surprise charges left me barely able to cover basic expenses. 3. Serious safety concerns on the balloon The balloon basket is designed for 16 people (2 per section). They loaded 32 people — 4 per section. In our compartment, we were placed with a larger passenger and were completely unable to move. We were pressed against each other, forced to face a single direction, and two of us missed the sunrise entirely because we could not turn. There was no room to properly follow takeoff or landing safety procedures. This was a blatant disregard for safety. 4. Photographer scam After landing, the “official” photographer — in uniform and introduced by our guide — proceeded to scam guests. Prices varied wildly based on appearance and language ability. They implied we were purchasing printed photos, then switched to AirDrop delivery after payment. A fellow Mexican traveler uncovered that locals were charged 100 MXN for all photos and videos, while we were charged 100 MXN per photo (which later became 200 MXN per photo when cards were introduced). Once the guide became aware that we knew this, the behavior of the staff noticeably changed for the remainder of the trip. 5. Breakfast The included breakfast was not worth it. This is clearly a cash grab — mediocre food marketed purely for the novelty of being “in a cave.” 6. Return trip By midday, in the heat, we were again placed in the same cramped vehicle — this time with no air conditioning — sitting with our legs pressed to our chests. Conclusion This experience involved misinformation, hidden costs, unsafe practices, and discriminatory pricing. I do not recommend this company.
