Miguel was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. - We had a very interesting and educational time at the Anthropology Museum. Having Miguel as our guide made so much of a difference than if we did it alone, as our Spanish is not the best. He showed us the most important highlights of the museum.

A great day at the museum with Emmanuel! - We had a fantastic experience with Emmanuel. His passion and knowledge for the history of Mexico was pouring off him as he led us around the museum. Emmanuel provided context and more information on all pieces in the museum, and we’re so glad he was our guide. Thanks Emmanuel!

Must do in Mexico Cit - So much history it would take hours/days to really see it all. Josephina was a wonderful guide, extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable. Or tour was 3 hours which was just about right for me.

Just go on your own. Very deceiving. - There is nothing "early entry" to this. We still had to wait in line until around 9:30 AM to get in. When we went there was a few schools that had to go in before we did. The description made it seem like we would be going in before the crowds got in. It was nothing like that. We had to wait for 600 kids to get in first, then after waiting for 45 minutes outside in the sun in a long line, then we were allowed inside. Once inside our "archeologist" had to buy the tickets inside, that was another long line. The other deceiving part is that the description called him an archeologist, it is a certified tour guide that studied archeology. The other bad part about it was that our group could not enter together due to the normal group dynamics of each person having different needs like using bathroom etc. Our fast "archeologist" had a big argument with security about letting us in together, we did not mind waiting in line with other people and then we could meet inside, but I feel like the argument our "archeologist" had with security almost got us kicked out of the museum. The tour also went a lot longer than in the description since our "archeologist" liked to talk. This would have been ok in other circumstances but I had skipped breakfast to be there for supposedly early entry that never happened, then he kept on talking until 1 pm. I had to say goodbye since I had another tour by 2 pm. There wasn't even a chance for me to use restaurant at the site. I went to buy a souvenir for my kid and could not get back in to buy something quick at the restaurant since the "archeologist" kept our tickets. I had to leave the place frustrated and hungry. If I had to do it again I would just get in line to get in as soon as the museum opens, buy my tickets and do the museum at my own pace.

Big fat lie - The tour description is a lie. We did not get into the museum early and our guide was not an archaeologist, much less a VIP one. Also, the meeting point given for the tour was incorrect. So that’s three strikes. However, our guide, Diana, was enthusiastic and informative, and her English was easy to understand. Also, it’s a smart idea to get in line at 8:40 (or earlier) for the 9am opening. By 11, it was noticeably crowded in the exhibit areas. Also good to know: This is a very large collection, so any tour is, of necessity, going to be a fast overview. Plan to return another time if you want to linger over the fascinating items on display.

Neither early entry nor VIP archeologist - Nope! This experience was neither early entrance (which would suggest entrance before the rest of the public) or with an archeologist (which would suggest someone who had a degree or work experience in archeology) don’t do it if what you’re looking for is what is advertised. That is not to say our guide was not a lovely person, she was a great tour guide. We felt a bit misled about the experience.
