Best anthropology museum visit ever - After taking Raul's amazing architecture tour I jumped on this one & was not disappointed. Last year I visited the museum 3 times and spent ~20 hours exploring it. This tour gave me a MUCH better understanding Mesoamerican and Mexican history & culture. Raul isn't just expertly familiar with the content of the museum because it's his formal area of study, he's also deeply enmeshed with the museum's curatorial staff, and so has an insider's knowledge of the decisions around design, layout & artifact choice that are very illuminating. He's able to highlight patterns and connections that elucidate the narrative structure of the exhibits. This is huge for better understanding developments in Mesoamerican aesthetic practice, social & political organization, and commercial, spiritual, & martial dispositions, however it provides the added benefit of allowing one to consider the role of the museum ITSELF in the construction of Mexican national identity. I couldn't recommend this tour enough!

Always exceeds expectations - My daughter and I are very familiar with Raul's other tours. We were confident to introduce him to our friends for this tour. He did not disappoint. We all felt we learned so much. While Raul is very well prepared to provide an illuminating tour, he is also very happy to respond to questions and engage in a discussion. He has greatly enhanced my appreciation for the country of Mexico.

Raul rocks - The museum is replete with artifacts from so many different civilizations and eras. Luckily we had Raul as our guide to help us absorb and understand the material. Raul is a true scholar and gave us the tour in chronological order while also sharing some of the influence in today’s society. I tend to tune out on boring lectures but Raul had us captivated the entire time. His knowledge and passion really came through. Highly recommend getting a guide to help truly learn and grasp the culture

My go to history guru - I have done many tours with Raul. He is my number one tour guide for myself, friends & family, even my team at work! Give yourself plenty of time with Raul because he will elaborate on any detail you like. You find yourself in deep conversations that go way beyond the artifacts that are being presented. I could not recommend him more!

Truly one of the best tour guides of my life. I booked as a group experience for a company offsite and it was a highlight for our group.

Absolutely worth it — fascinating and beautifully explained - The Museo Nacional de Antropología is incredible on its own, but doing the small group tour made it so much more meaningful. Our guide, Raul, was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about Mexico’s history and culture. The small group size made it easy to ask questions, move at a comfortable pace, and actually appreciate the details in each exhibit, especially the Aztec and Mayan rooms. It’s a lot to take in, but Raul did a great job connecting the artifacts to real historical stories and daily life. I left feeling like I actually understood what I was seeing rather than just admiring the displays. If you visit Mexico City, this should absolutely be at the top of your list and I highly recommend doing the guided small group version for the full experience.
