Informative, entertaining tour! - Alan and crew were kind, professional, and fun. Alan is both a warm host and a knowledgeable guide. His gifts as a storyteller and teacher are evident, as is his passion for sharing the culture and ecology of this very unique place.
Along with our 16 year old, 11 year old, and their aunt and uncle we visited the Island of the Dolls - it is absolutely worthwhile to hear the whole backstory from a local - and got to visit the axolotl sanctuary to learn about their incredible evolution. Along the way we saw all kinds of plant and animal life and had a hilarious time learning local drinking customs as a bonus 😄
The signage at the entrance gate to the meeting place is not super obvious at first, but eventually you'll find it, or the crew will find you to let you know you're in the right place!

Take this tour for the real Xochimilco! - Take this tour if you want to skip the party boats and learn the real history behind Xochimilco. Alan and his team were amazing - super knowledgeable and focused on sustainability and the indigenous roots of the area. The ride was incredibly beautiful and peaceful and we enjoyed great tequila, mezcal and local snacks. We brought our kids and they had a great time playing the games. All in all 10 out of 10!!

Amazing Tour! Do Not Miss Out! - This tour was the highlight of our time in Ciudad Mexico! We absolutely loved it! It was well organized. personal, fun and interesting. Alan was an amazing tour guide. We had so much fun learning about the Island of the dolls. It was so intriguing and scary all at the same time. Alan teaches you about the legend and also explains the need to respect the island too. There are games and music and fun to be had through out as well. It is a tour not to be missed.

muy chido <3 - this was so fun, the guides were friendly and had such a good warm vibe. being on the boat was very relaxing while games and chat added some fun. the time on the island itself was good. highly recommend.

We loved this experience - It was a wonderful experience. The hosts were great and knowledgeable of the history of the area. Fun and informative. This is the real island of the dolls. They were also easy to communicate with because the pick-up location can be a bit tricky. Suggest a florescent sign.

Great tour, awesome guide and spooky island - what a fun day! - We had the best time with Alan and his crew on this canal tour! Alan was super helpful when the Uber driver dropped us at the wrong place, and so knowledgeable about the Xochimilco canals. He kept us entertained with the spooky stories about La Isla de las Munecas and kept the vibes fun when we were on the water too. We enjoyed fine tequillas and mezcals and played Lotteria! I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

River boat tour. - This tour was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City! Boat, captain, Adrian, and tour guide Alan were so much fun and provided cocktails, games, and lots of interesting information about their home area. A stop at the island of the dolls made the trip even more fun. I highly recommend using this to our company. Be sure to stay away from the large corporate tours that are offered. Adrian and Alan grew up in this area and offer a very personal touch to their tour.

Super!! - This was the greatest experience. Alan was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were not hassled with trying to buy anything and we had plenty of time to visit the island. The food, drinks, and games were so fun and engaging. The entire trip lasted about 2-3 hrs. It was perfect for what we wanted, not too long, fun, no hassle experience…would recommend 1000x

Isle of the Dolls - Alan was a great host and the boat trip to the island was great, as was the return trip with the games.
The jury is out for me about the island. The story/legend is 'the sell' - the island itself, some will say weird and spooky and some will say grotty and tatty. Neither are wrong.
The biggest issue is getting there. It's time consuming and expensive but understandably they have not attempted to coordinate pick-ups given the vastness of Mexico City.
