• The Angel of Independence - Depending on your preferences, the meeting point will be at the “Angel de Independencia” between approximately 5:35 and 5:50 am. The group will depart early to avoid city congestion, with private transportation provided. An early breakfast stop is planned in Actopan, a city halfway to the destination, with a travel time of about 90 minutes to the restaurant.
• Actopan - Offers vegetarian-friendly options with limited vegan choices. Breakfast is complimentary.
• San Cristobal - The journey will pass through the serene town of San Cristobal, Hgo, which is the community that owns Las Grutas de Tolantongo. The drive from breakfast to this location is approximately 90 minutes. There will be a brief stop to pick up any necessary supplies for the day’s adventure.
• Tolantongo - The day is divided into three segments.

Pool Tranquility: Begin the day by unwinding in the “pocitos,” naturally warm thermal pools offering breathtaking views that rejuvenate both body and mind—ideal for social media. From here, there is an option to zip-line down to the next part of the day at the river. Please note that zip-lining is not included in the tour price (300 Mexican pesos).

The guide will ensure all essentials for the day are provided. The drive from the breakfast stop to the pools typically takes two and a half hours. Time spent at the pools is approximately one hour and forty minutes.

• Grutas Tolantongo - Cave Exploration: Experience the awe-inspiring waterfalls and unexpected adventures that guests have described as “life-changing.” Guides will lead an exploration of the caverns and tunnels. Enjoy the waterfalls cascading over the caves and swim in the warm pool inside the mountain.
• Tolantongo - River Relaxation: The turquoise-colored river is well-maintained and naturally warm due to the thermal springs, offering a completely relaxing experience. Lunch will be by the river (weather permitting). Lunch is not included, but a menu is provided for ordering to save time and enhance enjoyment of the river. The lunch total will be collected during the day unless the LUNCH COVERED OPTION ($220MXN MAX) is selected. Tables and chairs are provided. Please note that the time spent includes movement throughout the day.

Departure is planned as early as 3:30 to 5:30, depending on group efficiency and timing, with arrival expected between 7:30 and 9:30 (conditions permitting), filled with new experiences and photos to share with family and friends.

• The Angel of Independence - Two restroom stops are planned on the return journey. The first stop is typically one hour in, followed by another two hours later, before finally arriving in CDMX, weather and traffic permitting.

This guided tour is very organized and adheres to a schedule we modify to continue to provide the best experience. Please note that our tour spends the longest time in Tolantongo, allowing you to truly enjoy your time in Tolantongo without feeling rushed by your tour company throughout the day. Our guides are extremely fluent in their English language skills. Most have lived a major part of their life in the United States and or Canada. We provide comfort in our transportation, by not allowing our vehicles to be cramped and tight with too many guests. Our guides also have a good relationship with the community of employees that work in Tolantongo. Our mutual respect for one another allows for a better experience for our guests than you could imagine. Our guides are given a fair wage for their excellent service.
