- Sótano de Popocatl - This adventure involves an Underground Exploration in the Basement of Popocatl, located in the state of Veracruz. It features a vertical drop of 80 meters, with a mouth diameter of 45 meters. The Coatl River flows entirely into it, creating a stunning 60-meter underground waterfall, one of the most remarkable in Mexico. The gallery through which the river continues stretches 250 meters long and reaches up to 40 meters high. Large logs, carried by floodwaters, can be seen on the ceiling. The river disappears into a siphon inhabited by blind fish. A diverse range of amphibians and insects, adapted to the dark, as well as numerous flocks of swallows and swifts, reside here.
Using rope systems, the exploration begins by rappelling down the side of the basement to reach a ledge inside the impressive cave mouth. Another rope maneuver is then performed to continue descending to the underground lagoon formed by the Coatl River. Once off the descent line, preparations are made to enter another vault, unveiling a fascinating world visited by few.
