From Fornacette you drive up the mountain in the direction of Polvereto. After about 1.5 km turn left onto the dirt road, in Via Montetermini. After about 300m, after a tight right-hand bend, the parking place is in front of my rose-colored house on the right-hand side. I await my guests there.

Perfect day making jewellery in the Tuscan hills. - A lovely day learning how to make our own silver jewellery. Beautiful location and lunch break included. Dorthe is a wonderful host and teacher and the time just flies by. Plus we have wonderful handmade pieces to take away and treasure forever. Worth every penny.

The best experience! - Dorthe is AMAZING!! We had trouble finding a bus that would make the morning class over the weekend and Dorthe was so accommodating and let us move to a day during the week. The buses were also a bit confusing (it was our first time taking them in Florence), and we got lost a couple times, but she was so patient. The process of making our rings was incredible. She explained each step and always checked in to make sure we were happy with how our jewelry turned out. In our breaks, it was lovely just getting to chat and spend time together. At the end of the class, Dorthe felt like family and it was sad saying goodbye. I couldn’t recommend this class more!

Unique experience where you can create your ring💍 - My boyfriend and I attended this course to make a ring and it was a really beautiful experience! 💍
We started by casting silver and then, step by step, we created our ring .. it was exciting to see how starting from scratch you can make and customize your ring, bracelet or earrings.
Döerthe guided us and was extremely kind and patient
made us feel immediately at ease and made everything even more special.
It was a fun, original and romantic activity.
Highly recommended for those who want to try something different and take home a unique memory or for those who want to make their own wedding rings.

Wonderful activity - Dörthe creates a wonderful atmosphere in her studio, where she patiently and inspiringly shares her expertise. All five of us created very different pieces! It was a fantastic afternoon, resulting in a beautiful piece of jewelry that we're all proud of!

Unique and fun experience! - Dorothe was a wonderful teacher and host! She is a talented artist and seems to genuinely enjoy sharing her craft with clients. She was patient and relaxed throughout the whole process. The jewelry we made is our favorite souvenir from our trip! Highly recommend!!

Engaging and fun activity learning from a professional artist - We enjoyed learning the process of making our own jewelry - I made earrings and my partner made a nose ring. Dorthe was very friendly and was a good teacher, showing us how to go from melting the silver, to pulling it into a wire, to carving out the shapes. She was patient as we perfected our work, and also provided guidance for the nose ring. I really enjoyed pulling the wire; it gave me an appreciation for the hard work to shape silver! It was meditative work. One thing to keep in mind is that the class is outside of Florence, in the surrounding Tuscan area, so I would recommend having a car or understanding the bus system (we ended up paying 85 euros for a taxi one way). Overall, I loved being able to create, learn, and take something home to remember - and my partner gets compliments on the nose ring frequently and now has a cool story behind it!

An unforgettable experience in a warm atmosphere - I took this class with my partner. We wanted to forge both rings and decided on the course of Dörthe.
Already immediately after the booking Dörthe wrote briefly with us and discussed the further procedure.
On the day of the course, we received the exact location via WhatsApp with enough advance notice and thus also had a direct channel to ask questions (which, however, did not exist from our side).
When we arrived at the meeting point, we were greeted warmly by Dörthe and were able to arrive first in peace. After a short conversation we went straight to the goldsmith, which does not have the most modern machines (which are absolutely not necessary in my opinion), but a lot of passion for it. In general, we could notice over the entire time that Dörthe loves what she does and stands with heart and soul behind the goldsmithy. The steps of jewellery making were explained to us in an understandable way and we were able to carry out virtually every step ourselves. Only the parts that were associated with heating the metal were understandably taken over by Dörthe. The whole time there was a quiet, relaxed, almost family atmosphere, which made working on the jewelry even more fun. We were also able to test and practice many steps on leftovers in advance, so that we could design our final jewelry the way we liked it most.
During our conversations we received many helpful tips about jewelry, but also for our further holiday in Italy.
All in all, this is a really very nice and recommended course that is offered with a lot of passion and fun. This course is a clear recommendation for anyone interested in forging, who wants to own a unique piece of jewellery or simply wants to have a beautiful, relaxed and interesting experience in the heart of Tuscany.

- During a two week tour of Italy learning from master artisans, my husband and I had the incredible experience working with Dòrthe. She was so kind and patient and was an excellent instructor as we made rings for our young adult son and daughter. We brought our own rings to melt down to use as the metal for the rings for our kids. We loved heading to the countryside about 30 minutes outside of Florence for such a unique experience, separating us from the crowded and touristy city center. The landscape of the area is breathtaking. We cannot recommend this experience more!

Amazing jewelry class in the Tuscan countryside - This was an amazing experience! My partner and I made rings for our vow renewal ceremony, and they came out so beautifully. My daughter also made a ring - she chose a design that was more complex, and Dorthe went the extra mile to help her make it perfect. We felt so welcomed into her home and studio, and we appreciated learning more about things to do in the area. I would highly recommend this experience - it’s a great way to learn about Italy from a local, and to bring home a beautiful piece of jewelry you made yourself.
