Beautiful even in winter - I visited the town the day after Cyclone Harry, which fortunately, given the height, did not touch it. It is a gem for the well-kept alleys, for the view from above on Isola Bella, for the buildings, the souvenir shops and especially for the cannoli I ate there. Exceptional

Great trip - It was a great time! It was a seamless experience with an easy pickup and drop out at the port. A great time saver compared to the included tour from our cruise ship.

Above and beyond - Sara, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and tailored our experience on things we were interested in. She made us feel like family. And our driver, Giuseppe, was equally accommodating. He shared highlights of the island prior to the start of our journey. Was a fabulous memorable day !!

Amazing day, beautiful towns - This was one of our trip highlights. The drive from the port to Castelmoa was incredible, the scenery and views are breathtaking. Castelmoa is tiny, but lovely. Then back down to Taormina which was also lovely. All in all, this was an incredible introduction to Sicily and we cannot wait to go back to spend a longer time there.

Pleasant day in Taormina and Castelmola: a glimpse of Sicily - This lightly structured "tour" gives oversight of the two villages on the hillsides by the sea. Most of our time was discovering Castelmola and Taormina by ourselves. for an upcharge the guide led s small group off for a strenuous climb to the Roman theatre at Taormina. We had been walking for over 2 hours when that was offered and we declined. WE paid enough for the two village visit. Castelmola was small, quaint and quite hilly to wander to see the oversight/view and visit the village church. The shops were partially open at 10 in the morning. The church opened at 11AM. The access to all of the village was possible in the time allowed for the narrow irregular paths. Taormina was visited by choosing to walk the length of the Corso Umberto. There is a city gate at each end. The walk has three overlooks at the sea wall. Many shops and cafes line Corso Umberto with several churches open for free to visitors. Generally Italian Catholic churches welcome visitors. without a cashier at the door. WE enjoyed plenty of time to leisurely have lunch, We shared the best cannolis at Laboratorio Pasticce Roberto as pointed out by the guide. Our time was well spent here. Generally this was a leisurely full day in two hilly villages near Messina and a slice of life in Sicily.
