Delicious!! - This was a super fun way to immerse ourselves in the community and culture of Merida! We started at the local community market, where we visited stalls and tasted local produce and spices. After purchasing ingredients for our meal, we rode public transportation to the house of our host Dona Leo. There we helped her prepare lunch, learning local techniques and using ingredients unique to the Yucatan. Lunch was spectacularly delicious and we will do our best to recreate the dishes when we return home.

Absolutely wonderful - We had a great time with our guide shopping and learning about local history. The cooking class was so much fun and the food was so delicious. Diego and Mercedes were great hosts.

Great day in Merida - We thoroughly enjoyed pur day with Luz, visiting the market and cooking with Leonora. The cooking class was a real Yucatan experience. All of the dishes we prepared were local yucatan specialties. Luz was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. We highly recommend the experience.

Cooking class in Merida - The tour of the Central market to buy all the ingredients was fantastic. We met and spoke with all of the vendors and our guide Luz, explained all of the vegetables and spices with would be using in the flavor they gave. The experience with the family where we cooked and prepared the meal was the best part as it was a cultural exchange. My wife and I are both fluent in Spanish and talking with the mother and the grandmother about the recipe and also about family was a wonderful experience. The food itself, which was.pollo pribil and empanadas were delicious.

In Mérida? Take this tour! - We had such a good time! Zulma was a wonderful guide, and Donia Berta was our excelleng cooking host. It was super immersive and informative to explore the market to see how locals source fresh ingredients and recipes were delicious, easy to make, and traditional to Yucatan. The tour company had a good relationship with the host family so we weren't intruding on their home. Instead we got to feel like family for a moment. We couldn't recommend this tour more!

Fantastic cooking class! - We met up with our great guide Luz (perfect English) and went to the market for shopping all ingredients for our meal. She is a great guide and we could try many new products in the market-exciting!
Then we took the local bus to Dorkas home where we together prepared our meal. Both Luz and Dorka are great guides and teachers in the Mexican cuisine. We had such a nice time together in this friendly and warm environment.

Highlights in Mérida - Very authentic experience, both at the market and the cooking course at home at a Yukatan family. You learn the different techniques used to make e.g. empanadas and pollo pibil. Both the guide Luz and the family who hosted the course were very welcoming and all questions about both Yukatan/Mexican food, culture etc were met with answers and a smile.

Our tour guide introduced... - Our tour guide introduced us to the market with several opportunities to taste some of the produced. She provided translation for the cook who was wonderful in showing us the technique to assist in cooking the meal. Both ladies made the experience inviting. The meal was a great introduction to some of the local dishes.

Lots of fun and really tasting result - Our guide Luz took is to The market and you and explained a lot. We also tasted some things at the market. She did a good job. Toen we went to the house of Bertha and started with cooking. Ik was a warm and friendly cooking less. The result was amazing, and tasted very good. You have to be aware that it is some walking and the cooking cost more time then I expected. But it was really nice.
