Relaxing and beautiful - I recommend this trip. The guide/ driver was very good and pleasant. It was a relaxing trip with beautiful scenery. The only down fall was the guide on the boat( different one) did not speak or understand English. We made do with an app but missed a good deal. This did not take away from the beauty. The meal provided was very good.

Great beach trip for an American couple. - Julio is an excellent guide. The boat trip to see the flamingos was beautiful. The beach is fun, but a bit crowded.

Mangrove paradise - The boat ride into the mangroves was spectacular, contorted root formations, red water and exotic birds… Flamingos seen from far away, and one small crocodile. Celestún beach has tricky currents and a sudden dip, beware!

Boat Ride to Celestun - We knew the ride would be long, but the boat ride was great. We actually saw a couple of crocodiles as well as a flock of pink flamingos. Dipped our toes in the cool Cenote. Our driver Carlos was great, good sense of humor and made the ride enjoyable. We also enjoyed meeting the other folks that were on the trip with us. Well worth the time and cost.

Celestun, not to be missed if you go to Merida - A little less than two hours drive from Merida is Celestún, a beautiful reserve with a beach with unforgettable sand and sea. I advise the boat trip through the reserve to meet the flamingos in their natural habitat and delight watching them fly. The walk also goes through a small area of mangroves that is beautiful and I suggest being alert to the noise of nature: some crocodile can be seen. Boatmen often show the diverse fauna of the place. While Celestún is known for its reserve and can be toured in a day, I consider it an excellent place to stay and a nice sleep very close to the beach. It is still little exploited touristically and that makes it more wonderful.

Beautiful and relaxed tour but too expensive. - Beautiful and relaxed tour and nice to get back to Mérida late in the afternoon and not late at night. It's not good value though - too expensive.

Overpriced crossing to Celestún - The flamingos are great. Also the mangrove forest. But not at that price, please. For 156,- Euro I would like to have more program and a full-day competent guide. No taxi ride with a - although nice - but nevertheless ignorant companion.
