Best Tour Guide Eric Fuentes - Congratulations on an excellent choice in choosing the Excursion to Celestun Biosphere and Beach Day from Merida. If you have a good fortune of having Eric Fuentes as your tour guide you are in for real treat. First off, driving in Mexico is a little bit different. I would hire Eric Fuentes immediately as a Hollywood chauffeur driver because he is safe, professional, and attentive to his guest needs. The drive was wonderful and the music a perfect blend of English and Spanish. Secondly, Eric’s attention to his guest potentially saved us from a life-threatening allergic reaction. Kether, the love of my life is allergic to shrimp. In English, “no shrimp” means no shrimp. It doesn’t mean less shrimp, or take the shrimp off the plate or cook some more in the same pan. It means, that if this person is exposed to shrimp, they will have a server anaphylaxis reaction which requires immediate medical attention. I am so grateful that Eric was there to catch the miss translation and communicate the nuances in Spanish what being allergic to shrimp means. Seriously, you are in very good hands. Please, if you want, and only if you want, show your appreciation by tipping him well.

He took us to the best places to observe flamingos, explained in detail the importance of mangroves and other bird species. Your attention to every detail made this tour unforgettable. Recommended! - We were quite late in the season, but we were lucky to still see some flamingos! The guide was also very friendly. The lunch was not included, but good and affordable at a secluded beach.

Beautiful day in the biosphere. - During the spear ride we saw a multitude of birds, a couple of crocodiles and lots of flamingos. Eric, our guide, took the time to answer our questions and we learned a lot about flamingos and the reserve. After the spear ride we went to Celestún beach, which is lovely. There we stayed as long as we wanted and even had lunch, and honestly the lunch was very good, better than we expected. Thanks for everything, Eric.

Give priority to the high season of pink flamingos - We particularly enjoyed our guide, Eric, with whom it was our second tour. It is really very friendly and vehicle is very comfortable. We also really liked the restaurant on the beach and the sea view. It is probably worth a visit during the peak season of the pink flamingos, which is not the case in May, although we saw a few dozen during the boat tour. I would therefore recommend this tour during the high season.
