The Pleasure of the Table: Personalized Tasting
The visit concludes in our cozy Lounge or on the terrace with a view. At Luiano, tastings are a delightful opportunity to learn in a relaxed manner. Guests will be guided through a selection of our wines, including Chianti Classico DOCG (Vintage, Reserve, and Gran Selezione) and our Super Tuscan IGT (Lui di Luiano). Each tasting is presented on our renowned “talking placemat” and is paired with Tuscan food.
- Greve in Chianti - Welcome to Greve in Chianti, historically acknowledged as the capital of Chianti Classico! Piazza Matteotti, famous for its distinctive triangular shape (or DA le trapezoi) and surrounded by elegant medieval arcades. These arcades, once a refuge for merchants, now house artisan shops and historic butcheries.
Guided by our Destination Expert, visitors will explore the square, uncovering stories, anecdotes, and historical reasons that have established Greve as the commercial and social hub of the region since the Middle Ages. Admire the statue of explorer Giovanni DA Verrazzano and the ancient Church of Santa Croce before indulging in the tastiest part of the tour.
- Poggio al Sole Winery - Discover the secrets of certified organic Chianti Classico production. The experience begins among the beautifully exposed vineyards, where sustainable practices ensuring the highest grape quality with very low yields to concentrate flavor are explained.
Visitors will then be taken inside the cellar, a place where tradition and innovation converge. Admire the large barrels and barriques where the famous Chianti Classico and Supertuscan Seraselva mature slowly, gaining complexity and structure.
- Montefioralle - Venture beyond the more touristy Chianti and prepare to discover Montefioralle, one of Italy’s most beautiful and best-preserved villages. This ancient almond-shaped castle, which has remained intact over time, embodies the true essence of medieval Tuscany.
With our expert local Guide, guests will walk along its walls and concentric alleys, uncovering the history of the noble families who resided there (including, it is said, the ancestors of Amerigo Vespucci). Reach the most picturesque viewpoints, DA where a breathtaking view of the Chianti Classico hills, adorned with vineyards and olive groves, can be admired.
