- Blue Lagoon - The Blue Lagoon in Comino is a stunning bay featuring shallow, azure-colored crystal waters, situated on the west coast of Comino Island, nestled between Malta and Gozo. A private boat trip to Comino’s Blue Lagoon offers one of the most breathtaking views around the Maltese islands, drawing hundreds of tourists daily during the summer months.
Numerous swimming and snorkeling stops are made around Comino, with the Blue Lagoon being a highlight. At Blue Lagoon, visitors can swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters. The boat anchors at the prime spot in the lagoon, ensuring an enjoyable experience.
- Crystal Lagoon - Crystal Lagoon is located northwest of Comino Island. This stunningly beautiful area is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and numerous caves, some of which are shallow with sandy beds.
Another stop is made here, allowing visitors to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or even fishing. Bream fish are commonly found in this area. Snorkeling masks are provided free of charge. The tour also includes a visit to the caves around this lagoon, where several major films, such as Lovers Cave and Popeye’s Cave, were shot.
- Island of Gozo - The tour also cruises along the south coast of Gozo, in the area of Qala. Visits include Tal-Halfa Beach, Hondoq Bay, and Bemberin Gorge.
Tal-Halfa Beach, rich in clay, is located behind a large solitary rock known as Halfa Rock, which is steeped in history. Hondoq Beach is another beautiful pebbly beach with lovely blue turquoise waters. Nearby, Bemberin Gorge, a hidden inlet accessible only by boat, offers several magnificent caves.
This location is particularly appealing to cliff diving enthusiasts and offers crystal-clear waters for an exceptional swimming experience.
- Santa Marija Bay - Santa Maria Bay is a small, sandy beach offering a quieter alternative to its popular neighbor, The Blue Lagoon, which is just a 20-minute walk away. It is ideal for bathers seeking relaxation.
Santa Maria Bay features shallow, clear waters and is located next to Comino’s charming little police station, which helps manage the boats around Comino. While some dead algae may be present on the shore due to currents, the beach is otherwise sandy and clean, surrounded by tamarisk trees that provide shade from the summer sun.
- Elephant Head Rock - During the journey around Comino, the tour passes by an intriguing rock formation known as Elephant Rock. This natural arch, as the name suggests, resembles an elephant with its head dipping into the water for a drink. It is located on the east side of Comino Island.
The seabed here is sandy with sparse patches of posidonia, making it suitable for divers of all levels, with depths ranging from 3m to 18 meters. This attraction is visited at any time during the trip, so cameras should be ready!
- Santa Maria Caves - The Santa Maria Caves are situated on the north side of Comino and are a very popular dive site due to their fascinating cave systems.
These shallow caves consist of a series of five caves and are considered some of the most captivating cave systems in the world.
The stunning settings and entrances of these caves were also featured in the film ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’. During the boat trip, these incredible caves are visited to admire their natural formation and beauty.
