Driver Sam was great.... - Driver Sam was great. Overall experience to Hallstatt and Salzburg is worth the drive from Vienna. Better to visit western Austria from Germany but if you are in Vienna and have one full day then it’s worth taking the trip.

Breathtaking views! - Today we witnessed perhaps the most beautiful sights our eyes have ever seen! We were picked up promptly at 7:25 am at the lobby of our hotel by Sam, who was a fantastic driver/tour guide. For 11 hours, Sam drove us from Vienna to Traunkirchen. From Traunkirchen, Sam drove us through the backroads to Hallstatt. In Hallstatt, we took the funicular to the Skywalk and witnessed the most amazing views. We continued our visit walking around Hallstatt's village, which was very picturesque. Our tour continued to Salzburg. Sam highly recommended that we have lunch in Brau Restaurant, which offers traditional Austrian cuisine. Sam's recommendation was spot on! After lunch we followed Sam's suggestion and walked around the Old Town before crossing the bridge to the new section of Salzburg. We visited the gardens where scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed. In our humble opinion, this tour is a "must" if you are visiting Vienna for the first time and if you want to be amazed by breathtaking views.

Fantastic opportunity to see the country side from Vienna - We had most amazing time during the day trip. Our driver Sam was professional and caring. We felt safe and well taken care of all the trip. Sam gave us great recommendations for the times during the stops. The car was clean, comfortable and we didn’t notice how time flew during the drives. Very highly recommend this trip. Thank you Sam!!

Would not choose this tour again - Guide/driver was 20 min late for start of tour. Then 10 min into the tour, he stopped for gas and we had to wait while he got coffee for himself. He described very little the whole trip and only when we asked. When he and we had an agreed time and place to meet up after some free time, he texted to say he would be 15 minutes late, and then actually showed up 30 min late. We spent a lot of time standing on street corners waiting for him. There is more but you get the idea. He told us he is not actually a guide but an accountant in the guide office. What does that say about the company who sends a “guide” like that on a very expensive day tour. The only saving thing is the beauty of Austria.
