A museum to do absolutely not to forget .... - We went on weekdays to visit the museum, really great, lots of archives, documentation, objects of all kinds, visit a trench. Exhibition from April 12 to January 4, 2026 of horses and men (we bought the book) really poignant. The battlefield movie an immersive virtual reality experience, a moving movie that feels like it!

Exceptional - The museum was beautiful! Three hours of visitation was necessary but worth it. This one was very well documented, with many objects, costumes, photos and vintage vehicles. We also went to see the exhibition “horses and men”. It traces the harsh life of these animals during the First World War. She paid a very nice tribute to them. Must visit!🐴😁

The ultimate Great War museum - I visited this museum on numerous occasions before, and it now has a fascinating and immersive trench experience. The level of detail in the museum is exceptional and there are thousands of artefacts telling every facet of the story of the war.

Quick visit - Absolutely excellent museum experience. Took a visit with tour group, two hours isn’t nearly enough to see it all. Highly recommend.

Great WW1 museum - As a keen history student of the World Wars who has visited war museums and battle sites in France, I was keen to visit the museum at Meaux, which is meant to be one the biggest in Europe. A roughly thirty minute train ride from Paris L'est (2.50 euros) then a 15 bus ride (bus stop F outside the train station (2 50 euros) and I arrived outside. An impressively large structure too look at. I had paid for my ticket in advance, 14 euros, I think. There are two areas to visit, the museum collection and then the reconstruction of a WW1 trench. You can do either one first, but it makes sense to do the trench last, as you have left the museum afterwards. There is plenty to see, so allow yourself 3-4 hrs to see everything. It is well laid out with a large auditorium and several smaller rooms leading off to the side. As someone else has previously commented, there are a lot of uniforms relating to the various combatants, but also lot of other interesting artifacts as well. The thing I liked the most were the small screens in the different rooms showing footage from the period and relate to the particular exhibition in that room. They only last 3 or 4 minutes, and there are English subtitles. Although most of the descriptions are in French, there is enough information in English and German for non French speakers. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to any one interested in military history and/or WW1.

An undeniable educational success - A very great success - The museum offers over 7,000 m2 more than 80,000 collector's items - The presentation is very successful and small spaces with projections allow to rest for a moment because it is sometimes difficult to trample too long - Some pieces are rare and he is happy to be able to contemplate them - Mixture during the visit with participants in period uniforms which adds to the magnificence of the place and the reminder of the sufferings endured during these years of war. Thanks to you Mr Jean François COPE, you have added to the attractiveness of the city of Meaux but you can do more because the people of Seine et Marne are insufficiently aware of the existence of such a nugget a few kilometers from their home.

To see simply - Initially, they did not play the winner but finally, it was an excellent moment: well-arranged course, well told story it was 3 hours spent without seeing them. To do simply, to remember!

Disappointment - After several TV spots about the immersive film, we went to the museum. What a disappointment to learn that it was not possible to watch the film, no information about it on the site. It's lame.
