It’s the best souvenir to take home culinary treats we can share with out friends! - We had a lot of fun in our cooking class and learned about the wide variety of cultures and cuisines of México. Our class was focused on local Mazatlan specialties, which were well explained and presented with ingredients that we can get back home as well. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would return for another class anytime, if we were back in town.

Wonderful Expetience! - My friend and I had the best culinary experience with Paula. She not only cooked a delicious lunch in her lovey home but also told us about each ingredient she used that is commonly used in Mexican dishes, a little history, and explained each step in each recipe as we watched. We were her sous chefs! After everything was prepared we sat down together to eat. Everything was amazing! I can’t recommend this cooking class enough.

Parsalo bien (ENJOY) - We really enjoyed this experience and are still talking about it. Paola did such a nice job making us all feel welcome and comfortable. She gave a short but interesting presentation on the history of Mazatlan and Mexico as it related to foods. Then we moved to the kitchen and worked and watched the delicious foods being prepared, but most definitely the best part was the EATING! The flan was pure heaven. Thank you to Paola. She was the best.

Poblano, Jalapeño and More - This cooking class was well organized, friendly , informative and instructive. It was well worth the time and money. I encourage you to take a class if you are in the area. We took the class on chilis. However, there are other classes and if I am in the area again, I will look into experiencing another one of these classes. There are also food tours and this might be a lot of fun as well.

Don't expect an actual lunch -- more a food tasting. - I was hoping for more techniques specific to the local cuisine, but it was more a demo than actual cooking. She gave us small tasks to do on a small cutting board -- she only has the one stove in her small kitchen and she did most of the actual cooking. I got to dice a small potato and later fried it in oil. My friend got to dice a small carrot. She roasted some fresh chiles and we each peeled one. There were 4 people in the class, and each person was given a small cutting board and small tasks to do during the class. The class started with watching a video about the history and types of chiles. Then we watched as she made the dishes. The quantities prepared were very small and we were so hungry -- It seems like it would not cost her much to just have more food. When she pulled out a small clay pot to make a chile soup, it looked like an individual sized pot, but that was for all four of us! The food was just so-so - a lot of work for not that much pay-off. I don't think I will want to make the dishes again except for the jicama salad, which I already do at home. The smoked marlin was not good in the chile relleno. Paula was very nice. Unfortunately, the recipes and ingredients were not that appealing.
