Central Kalahari Game Reserve
Central Kalahari Game Reserve - After breakfast, depart for the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, spanning 52,000 square kilometers. This area of expansive plains, salt pans, and ancient riverbeds is home to large herds of springbok, gemsbok, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, and the largest antelope, the eland. Made famous by Mark and Delia Owen in “Cry of the Kalahari,” we will camp here for two nights. During our stay, we will track the black-maned lion of the Kalahari. African wild dogs, cheetahs, and brown hyenas also roam this untamed wilderness. The black-maned lion’s dominant color and high adaptability allow it to thrive in harsh conditions.
